I wouldn't have signed Garoppolo to $48.5M over 2 years - unless the only other alternative was to retain Carr in 2023 at $40.5M guaranteed with a no-trade clause, which was what he was effectively contracted for. Not retaining Carr on those terms was a no-brainer. The Raiders were overrated before the 2022 season and i'm not surprised to see them going backwards in 2023 with a downgrade at QB.
