Funny how you are always taking shots @ Meyer. Why is that?
You should tell me I'm obsessed and then say something about the Padres.
Yeah, but Woody knew how to relieve the stress...slug opposing players.
Yeah ... I still feel bad for that poor Clemson guy. He's going down in history for being the college player guy that got the shit beat outta him by a crazy old coot.![]()
You've responded to practically every single post in this thread. Get the dildo out of your ass already.
Bama has 1 bogus, 1941. I'd be willing to bet ND has more bogus claims than that. Ohio State does.
You do not get to claim the bold. He is from West Virginia and coached 1 single season in OH at Cincy. All of his other coaching was done in the south. Specifically Alabama, Louisiana, and Florida. Nice try though.
Yea! Take credit for Brady Hoke then too! Another Ohioan!
That's BS. Bama claims like 15 NC's. Ridiculous. At least 3 were from a couple of obscure polls that didn't even exist in the years that they claim, meaning they were retroactively determined. ND only claims consensus national championships. Trust me, if we were using Alabama's formulary, we could claim about a half a dozen more, but we've got some self respect. (Hell, one of the computers still had us #1 after the beat down in 2012). I agree though, 1941 was an out and out joke, what were they, third in the SEC and 20th in the AP that year?
Learn some football son. Bama won 4 NC's on the field of play in the Rose Bowl pre-AP. They have 10 BCS, AP, UPI. 14 legit. More than ND.
Oh we get that, he came through Ohio to learn his trade. Do not blame the messenger for him coming to Ohio to perfect his craft like so many others.
Grasping at straws with that one, but ok. 1 year shit stop in Ohio.
10 BCS titles? See what I mean. Delusional. Must be something in the water down there. Now, show me where I claimed ND had more? In fact, I'd concede that after 2012 Alabama has more consensus titles than ND. But it has nothing legitimately approaching 14 titles, let alone the 15 the school claims. Your "claimed" titles in 1925, 1926, 1930 and 1941 are all BS. 1925 and 1926, the only polls that put Alabama #1 were Houlgate and Holmes. Neither one of those polls even existed in 1925 or 1926. Houlgate's first year in operation was 1927, so this "poll" was taken retroactively, ie about as made up as you can get. In 1926, only Helms had Bama #1, there were 3 other teams with equal or better records that year and were voted higher by the wire services that actually existed at the time. In 1930, Bama claims a shared title with ND. The only "poll" to put Bama #1 that year was Parke Davis, who by the way is an individual, not a sports writer or computer wonk. Also, his poll didn't come out until 1933, another made up after the fact title. In that same year six other wire services all had ND number one. You already conceded 1941 is a joke so no need to elaborate, which brings us to 1973. You remember 1973 right? That's when the coaches poll did the final vote before the bowl games. They voted Bama #1, ND #2. Of course, the two met in the Orange Bowl and ND won. The AP voted ND #1. Bama still claims 1973 because the coaches poll, but if they had any dignity, they wouldn't, because they lost to the legitimate Champs that year. In fact, that embarrassment caused the UPI to change their rules the very next year to do their final vote after the bowl games. I mean, by alabama's calculus, I guess we can claim 2012, right? We were #1 in the polls before the bowl game. But where's the honor in that. If it makes the fanboys like you feel better living a lie then so be it. But I'd say between the two of us, you're the one that needs to learn about football.
