MJ is brutally honest but drunk MJ is just a savage.
Why?Reminds me of the Ginobli Spurs.
Because Ginobili is a bitch and Tony Parker is one of the top 5 most overrated guards in NBA history. Bruce Bowen was dirty as hell. About the only person I respect from those teams is Duncan. Why?
Oh. Then I won't spoil it for you, but what prompted Grant's comment the Spurs never didBecause Ginobili is a bitch and Tony Parker is one of the top 5 most overrated guards in NBA history. Bruce Bowen was dirty as hell. About the only person I respect from those teams is Duncan.
I haven’t watched tonight’s episodes yet, I’m recording it.

Bowen would be about the 5th dirtiest player on those Pistons teams
Isaiah Thomas excuse making for not shaking hands was so damn lame.
They should have shook hands simply for the fact that the Bulls shook their hands in the previous 2 years after being eliminated by detroit.
Still crazy to me that people glorify that era and that brand of play. It is disgraceful. The NBA took way too long to stop it. The game of basketball is meant to flow. The Pistons ruined that for about a decade.
It was also pretty lame when he said that the Celtics didn’t shake their hands when they were beat a few years prior. The difference was the fans started to rush the court and the players and coaches were escorted away for security reasons.Yeah, I was kind of buying it when he said "that's not how it was passed at the time. You lost, you left the floor".
But then they showed the Bulls congratulating the Pistons the previous 2 seasons. So yeah, it was pretty lame.
I'd have more respect if he'd have just said something like "Hey, we didn't like them, we were pissed, we left".
I agree to a point.
My favorite era was the 80's and not just because of Showtime. I thought the game had a good mix of the flowing style that teams are playing with today and the physicality of the 90's.
What I did like about the 90's was that the animosity seemed genuine, especially in the East. That added a level of excitement that made it a lot of fun. Games between the Bulls, Pistons, Knicks, Cavs and later, the Heat were must see tv at the time.
I think the main reason you see less animosity and fewer true rivalries today has nothing to do with physicality. I believe that is all about free agency. Teams just don’t stay together for years and years like they used to. Hatred builds with familiarity. Rosters change so quickly these days, there isn’t enough time to build it up.
A little a bit of different take than the doc
