Gee just got back on here and actually unblocked Coug, and the first thing I see from him is the same old regurgitated bullshit. Coug, could you show us another 1,000 times his stats and tell us another 1,000 times what a dreamy year he had?
Again the guy should have completed at least 90% of his 3 yard passes!!,!!!!

Oh please block me again! You obviously don't have a clue when it comes to evaluating QB's. Just ask Austin Davis. :dhd: As you can see by Vita's post it doesn't matter if Sam throws short, middle or especially Deep he is one of the most DEADLY accurate QB's in the NFL. :nono: Oh and Smed lets not forget he did all this with the worst OL and running game in the NFL!! Think about that... Defenses knew he was going to pass because they couldn't run and despite nickel and dime coverages Sam still shredded them when he had his 3 seconds to throw.

I honestly don't care one way or the other regarding the emotional side of this 'debate'.

I'm like Joe Friday on this...

jack-webb-resized-600.jpg

I do understand the hate for Sam here on the Rams' boards, but the fact is Sam had a career year with the Vikings, and set the all time record for downfield accuracy.

Shocking QB Ranked No. 1 in NFL for Accuracy on Deep Passes

And really, it doesn't matter what you, I, or Coug thinks about this guy, only Zimmer's opinion counts here.

I dont understand the hate for him on this board? He was always the best teammate and complete Pro? and still is. Have you ever heard anything thing negative about him from his team mates? On any team? NOPE.

Yeah Zimmer and the Vikes better get off their ass and open up their Wallet and pay Sam !!

At least we weren't the Bears. :L 2017 NFL Draft Team Grades - WalterFootball.com

I like this part of the Bears write-up and reminded me of what the Rams had done with Suh.

The disaster began early when the Bears allowed the 49ers to con them into trading up to No. 2. They then made the mistake that numerous incompetent teams have made over the years, as they reached for a middling quarterback prospect over a superior talent. This has always backfired. Take a look at some examples from this decade alone:

- The Jaguars picked Blaine Gabbert over J.J. Watt
- The Titans picked Jake Locker over J.J. Watt and Tyron Smith
- The Vikings picked Christian Ponder over Robert Quinn
- The Dolphins picked Ryan Tannehill over Luke Kuechly
- The Jaguars picked Blake Bortles over Khalil Mack

The Rams picked Greg Robinson over Khalil Mack.

True but this was more of reaching for QBs over proven studs.

Like taking Bradford over Suh

lol I was going to say that. QB is still the most important position though. The Rams made the right pick at the time. You can't win without a QB as we see how desperate teams can be in these last two drafts to try to get one. Donald as we know is the best DT in the NFL. but the Rams are no where close to making the playoffs. Why. because they have no QB.

Made the right pick? With that Oline? The one you blame so much on? The point of the whole draft report was giving examples on teams reaching on QBs over proven studs.

You can HOPE a QB takes you to the promise land but if your Oline can't block for him it's probably not a good idea.

I liked your post when it was just one brief sentence. Had to take it away and you're look lucky i didn't give you a poop pile.. ;) Good to see you back Coug. This should give you enough gasoline to get you going for a few weeks.

Your welcome everyone :suds:

Sammie never really had a chance with his injuries to go with Jeff Fisher coaching

Our #1 pick in 2010 wasn't a reach though coming out of college he had one of the highest QB grades ever from scouts. Not to mention we gave up nothing to draft him. (No picks). DT's are just easier to come by then QB's. like I said we already have two of the best.

What he was saying was Bradford was the wrong pick because the OL was a mess and needed to be fixed first.

Can't expect any QB to do much of anything behind a bad OL, much less a rookie.

And the OL isn't much better now for Goff.

Have a good OL, and you make a rookie QB successful ( see Dallas ).

And there were ? marks about Bradford due to his shoulder injury.

And guess what, injuries continued to follow him.

And why? Because of the bad OL. His second knee injury happened because the LT got blown by and Bradford got nailed.

I'm of the opinion, and I think SJ is as well, if you have a bad OL, you have no business drafting a QB high ( especially if you are mortgaging a draft or two to get him and thereby have no way to fix the OL ).

I didn't want the Rams to take Bradford that year because I knew the OL was bad ( and because of the shoulder injury ).

I wanted them to trade down.

I remember my older brother talking to me on the phone trying to convince me Bradford was the right choice because he was so accurate and could hide the flaws of the OL.

Guess who won that in the end?

Are you kidding me ? You don't pass on a potential franchise quarterback picking number one because your O line isn't ready to go?? You have no idea when you're gonna be picking number one again. What teams picking number one usually have a great OL? Doesn't work like that sorry. Oh and that rookie still won ROY. He also played all 16 games as a rookie his shoulder has never been a problem. Injuries happen it's the NFL you can't control that or predict it.

Well seeing he's the Vikes starting QB and setting NFL records and such... and the Rams don't know if they have a QB still. I would say your brother was completely right. Now go buy him dinner. The problem was the Rams missed on soooo many OL in the coming drafts.

But he did earn enough $$ to buy his own personal tropical desert island somewhere! While only playing in about 50% of his games! :mad2:

Sammy doesn't get all of his passing yards from DINK/DUNK passing! They come from the receiver gaining yards after the catch!
