16TH in yards thrown. Thats just one category but yeah 16th. With NO running game and bad OL and being traded to the Vikes 8 days before the season. Thats more yards then Big Ben, Dak Prescott, Cam Newton, Alex Smith, Marcus Mariota, Ryan Tannehill, Tyrod Taylor, even the great Case Keenum.

16th in yards passing isn't very good if it's your whole offense. The guys you mentioned all had great running games (other than Keenum, lol). So essentially, Sam was relied upon to do more but couldn't.

Say what you want but the fact is not to many QB's put up his #'s with that OL and no running game. And miss the postseason by a game.

...because he led them on a 3-8 skid to close the season. Besides, they missed the playoffs by 2 games, since Detroit beat them twice and would've owned the tiebreaker. Washington also finished ahead of them and won head to head. Truth is, the Vikings were lucky to play teams like the Packers, Titans, Panthers, and Giants early in the season when they were still struggling.

Or you can say those teams were unlucky to play the Vikes before the Injuries caught up to them.

Which injuries were so crippling?

Seriously? The OL was a mess. They finished the last game of the season with the 4th string LT in the game. They had 12 different players play on the OL during the season. And the messed up thing is they were AVG at best before the injuries. Not to mention Diggs missed a few games and AP most of the season.

With that Bradford watched Diggs, Rudolph, and Thielen all have career years. Sam had a 99.3 passer rating and set the NFL completion % record.

Oh if they threw the ball more? do you know why they don't throw it as much? Its because those teams have whats called a RUNNING GAME! Which Sam doesn't have. I keep repeating it because it seems you don't get it. one of these times it might click in your brain that his #'s with no help is pretty damn good.

Did you notice how many of those QB'S are in the playoff's. Yet Sam has better #'s go figure. just maybe its because those teams that made the playoff's have a better team around the QB? (good OL, Running Game) Do you see how that works? that is why he didn't make the playoff's is the weakest of arguments. It has nothing to do with his play.

You can repeat your bullshit all you want Coug, doesnt change the fact that your boy is average. You want to use the argument that he has no running game, but then you turn around and tell us that his short throws are just as good as a running play? So shouldn't that open up is passing game? Well of course not according to you.

Ya I also noticed how many QB's ahead of him made the playoffs too!

You keep repeating because I don't get it! That's a good one Coug!

Its not just me, How many different guys in here have tried to get anything through your concrete head and can't, because you don't get it and never will. You will continue with this argument 10 years after Sammy is done!

What Sammy set a record, first I've heard of that?

Actually Sammy was QB of team that went 7-8 , but no other QB (at least mortal one) in the NFL could have taken them to 2-8 , after their defense pretty much got them to 5-0. That's the problem with Coug, a rational level headed person would agree that almost anyone could go 3-8 and the Vikes would be right where they are with or without Sammy.

Sure Smed the defense knows you can't run the ball so throwing short passes will open up the passing game:doh:. No it allows them to keep their pass defense in the entire game which makes it harder to pass. :L

Yeah you keep telling yourself he's just avg. Because NFL teams give up 1st rd picks all the time for Avg QB'S :L

But we know you are smarter then them.

ONE team did Coug , and it didn't work out very well for them? so quit saying "teams" all the time, your BS is unbelievable !!!
Quit throwing out sooooo much Bullshit. its just like the NCAA Championship game, the D knows you are throwing short BS passes, so they play the line of scrimmage, Sammy should have been burning defenses right and left, but he didn't! That BS didn't work for Alabama, and it didn't work for Sammy!

You obviously have some pretty low standards if you look at Sammys career and think he is anything more than average! Yet he is amazing, unbelievable, and dreamy, what the hell do you think an above average QB is, if Sammy is great?

Kalil and Smith hit IR. The rest were game-to-game injuries, those happen every week in the NFL. Jake Long doesn't count, as he was a longshot gamble to even last a game.

No worries, the Vikings can use their 1st rounder in the upcoming draft to help fix that O-line. Oh, that's right, they wasted that (and a 4th) on Bradford. Still sure Hill couldn't lead them to miss the playoffs?

Umm No. You can't be serious. they don't happen every week like it happen to them. The Rams played I believe the whole season with the same OL. The Falcons played the whole season with the same OL. You trying to say that is the norm is ridiculous. Jake Long doesn't count?? this is the dumbest thing you have ever said. It should tell you how bad it was the fact they had to go out and get Jake Long to play LT. He was bad as expected but he got hurt which means they had to play someone that was worse!

Wasted a first on Bradford? Umm He will be the QB next year. So considering what the Vikes got to get Bradford and what the Rams gave up to get Goff :noidea:you tell me who got the best deal. Bradford was a steal!!
