No. They. Didn't. Everyone thought a concussion was a short term headache that went away like a bruise. The doctor in the movie (and subject of the documentary) discovered that concussions can have long term permanent effects that sometimes didn't show up until decades later. Watch the documentary.

Boxing evidence told us multiple concussions had long term effects. This infomation was there forvall.

The players were told that the NFL, through their retiree health insurance policy, would cover injuries that arose from their playing days. So things like arthritis or knee replacements are covered. But the NFL wouldn't provide any health insurance for those players that had medical issues arise from their history of concussions. So the players that are 60 years old with advanced dementia were shit out of luck.

Here is where the LEAGUE needs to step up and do the right thing. All players need better medicall care and insurance.
