Yes his talent level is high if you watch his college play the guy makes game changing plays against elite athletes. His height is really his only knock as a football player. In today's NFL you're willing to give up some completions to get some big plays. He wreaks havoc in the turnover department. Honey Badger is an apt handle.:agree:

So, by NFL standards, he's elite in every way except his height?

Do I have that right? If you were picking CBs for your team it would go Revis, then Mathieu?

No I'm saying the attributes I listed are elite.

There is not a thing he does that is elite by NFL standards.

He's a superior athlete. I don't know how that's debatable. Neither is his knack for making big plays. Football isn't always tangible.

Again, by college standards yes. By NFL standards, he's not special.

And in all fairness we need to see him play a season before knowing. I just believe he'll be a very food pro.

In all fairness you don't know that. It's merely an opinion as is mine.

You went from it's not debatable that he's a dominant athlete to no one knows for sure, which isn't true. If he had NFL-elite athleticism you would know.

He doesn't, plus he's too small. Maybe a slot CB, but I doubt it.

I think he has elite athleticism for the NfL level. I also know that doesn't mean he will be a great player. There's a difference.

I understand that's your opinion. I just disagree with it. One of us will be right we just can't be proven such until he's played. Understand?

The kid was a 1st rd pick before he got kicked off. Overall great job by Arizona. I think he will do fine. Also he doesnt have to face 6'4 Wrs. A smart coach would but him against smaller WRs.

No I'm saying the attributes I listed are elite.

His athleticism, aggression, ball skills and instincts.

What else is there for a CB?

As for his athleticism, here's his combine numbers. . .

40 yard dash - 4.5
vertical jump - 34.0 inches
broad jump - 9'9
shuttle - 4.14 sec
3-cone - 6.87

His shuttle and 3-cone he finished 10th in this year's combine. Those were the only two events he finished in the top 15.

That's only for 2013. Obviously things are different in pads than shorts and t-shirts, but here's a measure of athleticism in which he is anything but elite.

If you have to dictate his matchups, that is a problem. What happens if they're playing Dallas and he has to choose between Dez and Austin, both 6'2.

The idea that the coach has to protect him is a strike against him.

I will be surprised if he is anything more than a returner.

As for turnovers, most of what he had in 2011 was lucky bounces, outside that bit of luck he was nothing special.

As a cornerback, he really got exposed against Alabama in the NCG for his lack of height. Maybe he can play some safety. But he might be too little for that as he gets manhandled a good bit.
