Well said! I got nothing against Kubel, he "was" a good Twin, but he's lost his moj' since they dumped him. Like Garza & Pelfrey, it's now "been there, done that." If you're going to resign cast-offs, why do you get rid of them in the first place? Isn't it a bit like re-marrying an ex? All she does is come back two-years later, uglier, meaner, and fatter (and she still won't gulp either!).

The Twins F.O. is simply clueless on how to get back on track to being at least a Division winner. The Twins are just repeating the same signing mistakes over and over and over. It is the Front Office, not the manager that is controlling and ruining this team. Makes you wonder if the whole MLB is just a scam to rip-off us fans, you know, pretending to really be trying to win, but secretly divvying-up a monster pot of dinero each year with the other owners. What did they used to call it? Collusion??

Very well put!!!:suds:

I especially liked the analogy I bolded.

To add onto the whole "why get rid of them in the first place thing"(which I completely agree with). We are getting a guy like Kubel back when we have ZERO need for a corner outfielder/DH.

I just really don't get it. Shouldn't really bother me since it's not some high cost move or anything. But just frusterating that we are run by people who think it's a move that makes any sort of sense.

Like you said...why didn't we just resign Kubel to begin with when he was still regarded as good and before we had a log jam.

Trying to understand Mr. Ryan and the Pohlad's has driven me half-crazy over the past few years. Could you imagine being a Cubs fan or a Royals fan? No hope of ever winning the big one again. I guess we should be happy?? Heaven help us!

I will always remember Kubel for the Grand Slam off Mo (who he owns) and being the first Twins to homer at the new park.

He definitely has been declining but it would be cool to see him get back to form. If he did, he could be a solid DH who can also play OF from time to time as needed with injuries and things like that. His arm is underrated in the OF imo. He's got a cannon. Or at least did when he was with the Twins before.

Well said, PC! I was really angry when Gardy dumped him, (you know that Gardy makes all the personnel moves, don't you), anyways, Kubel was at the top of his game and happy to be a Twin. He was paid a fraction of the M & m boys, and arguably outproduced them in a cost vs.production analysis. He was the proverbial baby thrown out with the bath water.

I bought a Kubel jersey for my daughter a few years ago, I had a Cuddy jersey. FC told me that Cuddy sucked but I just couldn't see it at the time. Stupid me!

Merry Christmas!!

Cuddy was a good choice. Another players jersey that you can't help but want to continue wearing even after they have left.

He has been tearing it up for Colorado and now it sounds like Morny will be joining him on the Rockies. Hopefully Morny can figure it out there. The thin air will probably help him hit some more HR's.

I'd like to see Morny succeed. He got his bell rung too many times from sports as a kid and as an adult, it finally caught up with him. Everything is an equation of cost vs. production. If Morny gets an incentive-laden contract w/o a big number to begin with, like he had in Minny, what's to lose? If he goes nuts at the plate the Rockies would be glad to pay him for it. If not, sayonara! Those big contracts are killers. I think the GM's & owners are beginning to see this. Oops, I meant the managers, they do all the big deals, especially in Minny. Ha, ha!

I think I can deal with that. :thumb:

Got any snow up there?? It's around 80 degs. today down here.

Drove by the Twins Spring Training stadium today, they are busy remodeling it into a pretty nice place for the boys to spend 6 to 8 weeks each year. Right now they are completely wrapping seating around the entire outfield complete with a great big tiki bar in the middle of it. That, I'm gonna like! Phase II will go on through the Summer remodeling the grandstand, building a dorm for the minor league players to live in, etc., etc. The minor league team will play elsewhere, so I understand, as all the seating is being replaced. Progress, progress, progress!

Luv to see you down here one Spring!

Now it makes a little more sense signing Kubel.

I like trading Doumit. Didn't really need him. Only bad thing is it might mean more Chris Hermann.

Sounds like it will be between Pinto, Chris Herrmann and Eric Fryer at backstop.

It'll be Pinto. Hopefully Hermann doesn't get too much PT. But now he's forsure on the roster seeing as he is the catcther/RF backup option.

Fryer isn't even in the running.

Might still sign another catcher.

This move does inch Colabello closer to another opportunity....shoot me now.

I reluctantly must agree about Doumit. He just didn't do enough last year to make him untouchable this year. However, this year the Twins must absolutely go out and get a catcher to replace Mauer. I figured Doumit would get one more year anyway. The Twins also traded away a decent multi-position player in Doumit, I question that a bit too.

As much as I complain about Terry Ryan sometimes, he still has forgotten more than I will ever know, so I'll just wait and keep my fingers crossed. If the Twins were car engine, Ryan has completely tore it apart, I hope he can remember how to rebuild it. In the meantime, it ain't running for sheet!!

That will be up to the coaches at ST kiddo.

I like Pinto to start at this point though.

He has had his good moments in Minny for sure. Last year was a bit rough for him though with the injuries and such. Time to move on I suppose. Good luck to him with the Tomahawks.
