Heading out to the Twins caravan tonight. I hear Scott Diamond, Glen Perkins and Tony Oliva will be there.

Should be a good time. :yahoo:

Sounds fun, PC! Dress warm!!

That I did bucky. It's been below zero the last few days and it sucks. But it comes with the territory and we always get through it.

The Twins caravan was fun last night. Kids got to ask players some questions and grab some hot dogs en sech.

My buddy and I rubbed elbows with Dave St. Peter at the bar for a bit. My buddy is a Twins fan but he also likes the Brewers and was telling Dave they should sign Nyjer Morgan for the outfield. He didn't sound too excited about the idea though and said, "Milwaukee had their hands full with him". LOL

On the way out we stopped by and said hi to Scot Diamond and Glen Perkins. Glen sounds excited to pitch for team USA in the WBC while Scot has to miss out playing for his native Canada team because of a setback he had. Didn't sound like a big deal, just some bone chips in the elbow that needed to be cleaned up. Cool guys to chat with for a bit.

The highlight though had to be shaking hands with and meeting the great Tony Oliva. His English is a little rough but good enough to understand. He had just chipped his tooth eating a chicken wing that day so he had a little open space in the front but he was in good spirits. He said he would be fine until they get back from the caravan trip and then he would get it fixed. Of course he claims the whole thing was somehow Scot and Glens fault. lol

Good times or bad times for the Twins, these events are always a great time and give you a chance to hang with players and other baseball fans and just shoot the shit. :suds:

That musta been totally cool!! Nearly all of these guys are good people who are trying to do their best to win, not lose. It's fun to tease them a little bit and to say clever things on web-sites once in a while but to be insulting and mean is going over the top. You and I have always agreed on this. Like I've always said about Mauer, "They offered and he accepted...anyone of would have as well." The 2013 team still suks, though!!! Nyuk, nyuk.

Later, bro!

Carl Pavano recently suffered a ruptured spleen that occurred while shoveling snow.

See what living in this shit can do to a guy? lol

Why wouldn't that dumb-sheet move to a warm climate? He's got more money than you and me....well, me for sure! He could live like a king in Carmel, Ca. Furthermore, how do you rupture a spleen shoveling snow???

Nuthin', actually! I'm just gettin' itchy to talk a little baseball but almost all the sites are still quiet. This time last year everyone was buzzing about their teams, especially your friend, M4E, over on the Marlins page. I see you dropped Danny V's name in a possible PED involvement today. If he did you sure hit it right in saying Danny "f'd" that up too. I always thought he had a future but he just got worse & worse.

Yeah, his name came up yesterday along with Ryan Braun and one other guy being connected to some sort of PED supplying clinic in Miami. Although of course Ryan Braun was the big news of it all, I just thought it was funny to see his name up there too.

Like I said, if he was using PED's, I think he was doing it wrong..

All Selig has to do to satisfy us anti-ped guys is to establish a new set of records beginning from the year they were first invented and let those guys hold their records separate from the guys who came before the hyped-up guys. Interestingly, steroids were around when Hank Aaron was playing and he's defending Barry Bonds......very interesting! Hank also had nearly 4,000 more ab's than the Babe, I hope he could hit 30 more hrs than babe did.

I'm still here. Not much to talk about yet. ST games start this Saturday. Then things should start to get more interesting.

Good to hear from you and I got your reply also. I always watch the temps. for your area and was worried that you froze yourself once & for all. Now I know you'll be around for at least another Summer. Why don't you come down here? 60 deg. is considered brutally cold. Brrrrrrr!

ST games start in two days. Correia set to make first start. Sounds like they want him to get some work in with couple starts before he takes a short leave for family. I think I heard his wife is about to give birth to their kid soon. Should be a nice new beginning for him with a fresh new team.

As always, I'm just hoping for the best. :yahoo:

PC - I'm going to the opener on Sunday but I had no idea who was pitching until you mentioned Correia. It is going to be real weird not to see Slowey, Pavano, Capps, etc. I dropped by a few days ago only for a few minutes and I couldn't recognize nearly all the players except Mauer & Morny. I don't remember such a grab-bag as this on a Twins team since I've been down here.

Interestingly, if Mauer & Morny re-ignite and Plouffe & Doumit turn out to be true power guys, the Twins could score a lot of runs with Willy sitting right there in the middle driving them in. I like slug-fests more than pitcher's duels anyways. I know I've turned off several no-hitters in progress because the game bored me.

I agree with you and I'm hoping for the best too!

All the new faces are refreshing. Sick of watching and waiting on the same guys to come through every year to no avail. If anything, that is at least something to be excited about for the upcoming Twins season.

I disagree on the pitchers duels/no-hitters though. I enjoy a match-up of runs scored too but pitchers duels are intense to me. So much pressure! But hey, to each his own.
