I'll say Blackburn delivers Prince a big bag of cookies this year.

My pick is Baker, because he is the one pitcher other than maybe Pavano that has actually has a chance to pitch past the 4th or 5th inning.

jrs. - Check out the Fox Miami Marlins site. Me & PC are talking "ice-dangling" and could use your input. I've been recalling past years on the ice somewhere near Garrison with my drunken teammates. God, that was fun! A 6-hole shack with guys driving up from Mpls all through the day and night catchin' a serious buzz and the highly prized eelpout. Brings a mist to my eyes just thinking about it!

PC - I like it! I checked out the pictures of the bar and felt right at home seeing the knotty pine walls and the Swede bar-keep wiping things down with his trusty pack of "heaters" right in front of him! Of course, there has to be a small t.v. in a corner up near the ceiling for either Duluth Bull-Dogs or No. Dak. Fighting Sioux hockey games. I mean, it just wouldn't be right w/o this amenity. Bloody Mary's tomorrow morning with the lumberjack breakfast, anyone?

What ever you do, don't stumble into a fishing hole. As we say down here 90 miles from Cuba....NO BUENO!

Finally decided to come back to reality. Let's just say it was another one of "those years" for me at the ice fishing tournament. :frown:

Still managed to have a blast though. Or at least I am pretty sure I did..

PC -That was not a "glowing" ice-fishing report by any means. Do I smell skunk somewhere? Did you at least party-down with your posse? The "bottle-bass' are always biting!

Hey PC
Sounds like you had a good time at least.
you'll have to come check out the ice fishing extravaganza in Brainerd one of these times.

Buck
Lake of the woods is still on fire, all the old timers that have been fishing there forever are saying that this is easily the best winter they have ever had for walleyes.

Sorry Buck!

If it makes you feel any better, your other old stomping grounds, Mille Lacs Lake is producing a bunch of fish this year as well!
Its pretty convenient also, as they are within a mile of the Blue Goose, the Goose is always well stocked with those bottle bass that PC was speaking of. Funny thing about bottle bass is that there is a seemingly endless supply, but they are all the same size.
There are a bunch of dipshits around here that keep dumping their $40K trucks in the water, because the ice is so sketchy this year.

jrs. - You really know how to hurt a guy! I don't care if it's 80 degs. down here, I'd love to be on a walleye bite on that reef outside of the Goose. Then to the bar!! Piss on the thin ice...donuts all the way in!!

Speaking of ice-dangling, notice how PC ain't talkin' about his trip to Star Lake? That's the classic "tail between his legs" posture! No fish & no buzz is my guess. Not worthy at all!

Yup, the Twins will be in action in no time and this town will be alive with Twins fans & Boston fans as we just built the Sox a brand-new, beautiful, new stadium. Sox tickets will be $50 - $100 every game, or more. I ain't going! The Twins will be more reasonable (I wonder why) and I'll go to maybe 1/2 the games, but don't forget, shark fishing turns on at the same time, gotta do that!! We had a really warm Winter so I expect the Gulf to turn on big time in March & April.

See if you can talk to PC...he's ducking me!

I have heard about the new stadium for Boston, I thought I heard that it was built as a Fenway look alike?
$100 for a preseason game is nuckin futs I wouldn't go either if I were you!

I'm here buck. :yo: I have gotten my fishing fail off my chest but I think I am still trying to recover from the 1.75 of Ice Hole we had out there. Ouch! My liver! My liver! :crutch:

PC - Doesn't sound like a total failure to me, sounds like you did catch the highly-prized "buzzfish." Using liver for bait is a new approach, however. We always had a few guys puking in the hole, claimed they were chumming the water! Yech!!

jrs. - The new Red Sox stadium has a replica 'Green Monster" wall in left field with seating on top and, I'm told, a tiki-bar near it. The wall is supposed to an exact replica of the one at Fenway. The stadium holds around 12,000 fans and is sold-out. Any tickets now will be scalped at terrible prices. I'm gonna look on Craig's list to see what Yankee-Red Sox tickets are going for & get back to you. The rest of the stadium is all new design and looks very nice. I won't see it for a while unless I run across some tickets at reasonable prices.

Remember this important fact about ST games: the regulars do not play more than an inning, or two, until the "last" week of ST. You're paying to see the tryouts and it's often bad baseball. BUTTTT, if you're down from a miserably cold place like Brainerd or Fargo, and you find yourself bathed in sun drinking copious amts. of beer at Twins Stadium, what do you care who's playing? That's how I look at it, anyway. The best part is getting there around 9:00 a.m. to watch the workouts on the training fields. The players are walking around right with the fans, taking hitting, playing catch, etc. This you don't see at the MLB home-fields too often.

Get your butts down here and party with me! Don't forget the fishing!

You guys think it would be a good idea for the Twins to sign Varitek and carry three catchers? He is 40 but he would add some catching depth which is always good for Mauer and he could probably DH too.
