you take that back.

I had no idea who Tim Riggins even was until I googled the name. Taylor Kirsch in John Carter and Battleship actually makes Keeanu Reeves look like an all time great actor. And so far he was better in those movies than he has been on this show. But I guess he's very pretty, if you're the kind of guy who likes penises. Penis's? Penii?

So far, Colin Farrell has woken from dreams twice.......The guy dressed in a chicken suit that shot him must be something he'll have to discuss with his psychologist.......He can't be dead.

I am about this close to bailing on this show. It is so snooze-worthy.

I am sure the writing is brilliant, and it would probably be great upon a re-watch, but the first watch is like watching paint dry.

Now, it's definitely possible that this whole season may end up with a whimper, BUT, having said that, last season started out glacially slow too, as they set the tone, and introduced the characters, and built up the tension.

Seems weird to me that everyone is bailing already.

I agree. I thought last season started slow too, better than this but slow. It wasn't until the end of the 3rd episode with the long one shot action scene that I was hooked.
Unless something horrible happens I will watch this until the end.

I agree with you..........the last season didn't really heat up until the middle episodes. I just want them to explain a bit more in regards to Vaughns character, and the people surrounding him. I'm sure we'll get there, but everything is so vague thus far. Probably on purpose. I'm enjoying it either way.

I agree that the plot moved slowly in the first season but the writing and dialogue was done so well that you kept coming back for more. So far there isn't that 2nd element in this season.

I'm not hearing what you're hearing then. It's the same writer. Pizzolatto is the guy, on both seasons. Same short sentences, same pregnant pauses. Same feel, imo at least.

Now maybe he's got nothing in his back pocket. But I think you're remembering the end of the journey last season. Plus there's the newness factor too I suppose. There hadn't been much like that on TV ever.

Rural Louisiana was a nice canvas for them to paint on too, although I think they're doing a nice job keeping a similar feel, even though LA is MUCH more familiar on TV.

Although I'm still going to reserve judgment for a few more episodes, the more I think about it, I just don't think Vaughn has the chops that last seasons main stars had. Both Harrelson and McConaughey were amazing at changing their physical selves.

I keep expecting Vaughan to break out in a big shit eating grin and mug for the camera.

I know it's the same writer but I can definitely tell a major difference in the way it's written. It's not as deep or memorable as season 1 yet. Season one had kind of a modern noir feel with the philosophical narration and dialogue.

Like Blade-runner-esque narration? I'll have to re-watch again I suppose, but I don't remember that. All the exposition was finally let out when the two cops interrogated MM's character. Before that it was dribs n'drabs, with next to no 'narration.'

Maybe my memory is getting faulty?

Oh, there was some narration that got all philosophical, at the very end. Denoument time.

Cisco kid looks the the bird mask.guy to me.....
I think it's Blake. He may be too obvious though being that he appears to be working behind Frank's back.

Do we know who Trevor Dixon is (the name on the card the "other" detective gave to pawn broker)? Frank seemed to who he was, but I don't remember the name.
