I wish they would've exposed the higher ups that were obviously involved.
Same here.

The hunt for a new pair of True Detectives is on after Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson confirmed they would not be back for season 2, with Brad Pitt being one of the names in the frame.
The role is one of the most coveted in Hollywood thanks to the success and scope of the HBO drama, which will start afresh with a new case and new police investigators for its second outing.
According to Hollywood Life: "Brad’s name has come up many times, it’s just a matter of what his other commitments are.
"Brad has tight relations with HBO — he teamed up with Ryan Murphy last year to produce the HBO movie The Normal Heart. I know everyone would be thrilled to have him onboard."
No, but I'd definitely like to watch again, crack out-style, er I mean Netflix or DVD style.

Recent rumors have stated series creator Nic Pizzolatto was seeking a female-driven cast for Season 2 of the hit HBO series, and now today, Nerdist has learned exclusively one of the names that may be on the bill in 2015: Jessica Chastain.
Despite rumors to the contrary, Jessica Chastain is not joining the Season Two cast of True Detective. One day after Nerdist reported that she'd been offered a lead part on the show, reps for the Oscar-nominated actress confirmed to E! that Chastain won't be featured on the acclaimed HBO series. HBO has also denied the reports.
Jessica Chastain is sorry about the minor Internet frenzy started when word got out that she’d been approached to star in the second season of “True Detective.”
As it turns out, she’s not doing it. Chastain shot down the news, first reported in an exclusive by the Nerdist, at the Cannes Cinema Against Aids benefit for amFAR.
“It’s such an awkward thing,” Chastain said. “That news broke yesterday and it went crazy on the Internet. There was so much of an explosion. Also it’s an awkward thing because when all that attention happens, it takes away from whoever plays the role. I love Woody Harrelson, and I’m gonna watch the second season just like I watched every episode of the first. But I won’t be on it.”
According to the Daily Star UK, Hollywood actor Brad Pitt could be the star of "True Detective" Season 2. The report suggests that the actor is "close to signing a deal" to star as the main cast member.
Brad Pitt is reportedly "thrashing out last minute details of a deal" with HBO. "12 Years a Slave" actor has already given the "green light" to the new project.
Interesting. Never seen Vaughn in anything that I liked much, but I felt pretty similar about McCauganhey before I saw him in True Detective, though I thought he was excellent in Killer Joe, which I saw shortly before True Detective began.
I don't think I've seen anything that Elizabeth Moss has been in. A google image search of her, however, makes me anxious for the new season!
