I think the name on the card was Teague Dixon. He was Velcora's partner until he was shot in the head during the gun fight.

Mexican gang aka "foreign interests" has to be involved somehow IMO. Whoever vaughn set Farrell up to.kill probably tied to that gang and they are out for their revenge by taking his 5 million and fucking him at every turn.

I don't know how anybody could not watch after the first season.
Cuz Season One was Two Cops. In a creepy place where no other show is ever set. Tracking down the lowest of the low crazy bastard. With empty cans of Lone Star.

Then Season Two has umpteen badillion characters, set where a million other cops shows have been set.....

I'll watch this session when I have time. Or I'm bored. Or it's raining..... and I'm still bored.

Gave it a couple episodes, then quit caring. Not done with it, but certainly not anxiously awaiting anything.

Pretty much.

Or more likely, he stole all the ideas he could steal then saw a huge paycheck and threw together some political who dunnit.

Uh, season one was ALL about politics. They just were never able to follow it high enough to find out where it led.

I mean don't like season two, groovy. But don't make up your own reality.

the season isnt as good as the first but unwatchable....give me a break.

all the elements from the first season are there they just arent as intriguing.

initial victim: naked dead girl in cult ritual > middle aged city manager sitting in a park

cinematography galore of scenery and highways: backwoods rural LA > rundown industrial LA ( to say many shows have been shot of these locales in LA is bs too. they are purposefully keeping most of the emphasis on the industrial and immigrant seediness. most other shows set in LA want to pump up the downtown /beach images)

movie actors taking a chance: harrelson/mccanughy > vaughn/adams/farrell. alot of this can be attributed to longer time for the writer to work the scripts but i also think the initial actors had more chops. this season adams has impressed me the most and vaughn the least. seems like farrells big scene is yet to come.

the story has definitely started to come to together the last episodes. more intensity and action, ill watch it to the end and hope it delivers.

I thought Sunday's episode was pretty great. From the opening scene to the ending sequence I felt it was very well done. I might have cut some of Ray's bender and probably the prison visit but still overall I liked it a lot.

the bender seemed like a setup about his mindset before he called his wife. its length was to show his roller coaster ride of emotion before he came to his conclusion about stepping away from his son. the prison scene was one of the better exchanges this season IMO sans the batman voice. I think Farrell has been the best actor by far to this point. He's actually surprises me, didn't think much of him coming in.

Wife and I watched In Bruges, with him in it, the other day, and it was a decent flick. He did pretty good in it.

Yeah I get why they had the bender, I just thought it was far too long.

The prison scene I actually kind of liked, I just thought it seemed out of place. I was just nitpicking, I liked it a lot.

I thought the prison scene was quite important. He is able to put a face to his wife's attacker/his son's father and he is now fully focused. He knows he killed "an innocent man", and he is still working to rectify that, but by knowing the real attacker is in custody is a sort of closure for him on that front.

He also has to see the man to know for certain that he is the father. He said that he sees him in his eyes (or something to that effect), meaning he is convinced who the father is. This, along with his sons fear during the visitation, was what convinced him to back off. He prevents his ex from getting the test (or at least informing the kid of the results) because he already knows the results. He is willing to sacrifice his relationship with "his son" so that the kid never has to know that he was a product of a violent r*pe.

I think everything in both of those scenes were quite important to the development of Ferrell's character.

Did the rapist in prison look Asian to anybody else? When he first showed up I started laughing thinking "Well....I guess that solves that".

The finale was a perfectly mediocre capper for a perfectly mediocre season.

That finale destroyed S1s in my opinion.

Wrapped up pretty much everything.

Are you kidding? I thought it was garbage.

No and the general consensus seems to agree.

S1 was awesome for the first 4 eps and even good for the next 2.

But the case was so straight forward there wasn't an ending and the main people were not even discovered.

That last two this season polished up everything with out spoon feeding it all.
