The Troy Trojans, that is.

Troy ranked 7th last year in rushing defense, allowing 105.7 yards per game (2.87 yards per carry). That's better than ACC champs, Clemson; Big 12 champs, Oklahoma; Pac-12 champs, USC; and the unbeaten UCF team. None of these last four were even in the Top 50.

The Trojans were #11 in scoring defense at 18.5 points per game. That's better than the champions of the Big 10, Big 12, Pac-12 & UCF.

They were 24th in total defense at 337.0 yards per game. Again, better than Oklahoma, Southern Cal & Central Florida.

Their current winning streak stands at 7 games, which trails only UCF (13), Florida Atlantic (10), and Northwestern (8 games).

Troys 11-2 final record ties them with Penn St. for 8th best in the country (still better than USC), and they are tied with Memphis at 13.1 ppg in scoring margin (18th best & still ahead of those other Trojans).

So, maybe LSU's loss to Troy last year was not such a blight on their record, after all.

How about being a Bama/LSU/Clemson fan? That has to be tough come SEC conference play/CFB Playoff time. Or maybe it’s not. How could you be disappointed? Everyone wins. Maybe throw some support Oklahoma and Ohio State’s way as well for good measure to make certain you’re covered.

Troy just made LSU the laughingstock of college football last season I think. I’m still pissed off with Middle Tennessee State and that was in basketball that I barely follow.
