lol, you wanted to cut Andrus last night. Is that not "pretty early" ?

I've wanted to cut Andrus going back to last year. He has a track record of doing dumb shit and underperforming. Just like Martin has a track record of being a black hole in the lineup. My feelings aren't based on a few games. We don't pay much attention to small sample size around here.

There's a reason he was made available in the rule 5...Just view him as a bridge and an occasional way to make you laugh and he's a lot more palatable. I have a buddy who talks non stop shit about him, and can't help but think there are more deserving targets on the 40 man than Delino.

Is your buddy Winding?

Yes, he is definitely better than some of the options we have had to endure out there over the last few years.

Benny, are you thinking Brinson takes over in CF at some point this season?

Heh, Would be news to me if he was. Far as I know he doesn't read websites or forums for baseball. He has some irrational hatred for Delino and Tolly. Can't really defend Tolly much these days though.

That is a hard one to figure out. I think at this point both DeShields and Desmond get a long look there before bringing Brinson up. Before Desmond got here and started playing some CF I thought Brinson would be here by early August at the latest.

I do think if and when Hamilton gets healthy that Desmond plays a lot in CF and DeShields sits.

Who's your lead off guy when that happens?

I guess they go back to Choo leading off.

Would you move Desmond to the 2 hole? I kind of like having him lower in the lineup to split the lefties.

I think I would rather wait and see how everyone is hitting at that point before deciding what I would do. If Josh does come back May 15th or so then we will have 6 or 7 weeks worth of at bats to see who is doing what. Although, I will say that I have never been quite as concerned with splitting up lefties as much as some are.

I see the Rangers are billing next weekend as Opening Weekend so maybe they are going to wait until then for the do-over. lol

So trade Andrus and move Desmond back to SS ?

First, we'll have a eat a boat load of salary to move him. Second, Desmond has no desire to be an everyday SS anymore. He's said as much, and it's been referred to numerous times by Banister.

Until we see how Profar is going to do in the minors, EA is going nowhere.

Ya know, you sure make baseball moves seem so easy.

I hope the bats and the BP don't wait until then to start showing up!

Me too, but it would be earlier than they showed up last year.

If nothing else, last season certainly showed us the value of patience and letting things play out.
