Training Camp 2013

Training Camp started for the rookies today and thus articles on the workouts should be reaching the next stage in the off-season. I thought, like last year, we could start a thread on the off-season program - on training camp. Articles, videos, whatever. Sticky, bump it, and whatnot. The other off-season thread seemed to center on everything else.

If this thread is unnecessary, continuing to post in the http://www.sportshoopla.com/forums/san-francisco-49ers/96278-off-season-workouts.html would be good, too.

A.J. Jenkins - WR - 49ers

Coach Jim Harbaugh "feels like" young receivers A.J. Jenkins, Quinton Patton, and Ricardo Lockette are "making a lot of progress."

"I feel good about where that stands right now," Harbaugh added. "Continued competition will continue to be good for our team and those youngsters." Harbs also mentioned Marlon Moore as a player doing an "outstanding job." The 49ers worked out Austin Collie after Michael Crabtree's torn Achilles', but it appears they feel comfortable with the young group to this point. Veterans Mario Manningham (knee) and Kyle Williams (knee) opened camp on active/PUP.

I'm really not too worried about the talent we have a WR. Only thing that worries me is that we can't keep them healthy. If K. Williams and M. Manningham play in all 16 games this season. I think Kap will have plenty of weapons to work with.

It seemed like we were healthy at nearly every other position in terms of numbers, except the WR position. That's not to say one guy from another position isn't more important, just in numbers. Are they more injury prone due to necessary movements? Are they not being conditioned by the team as well as others (one's conditioning staff can still be great but focused on different positions)? Am I wrong in my observation? Is it random, as one day WRs will be fine and DEs will get hurt?

and it is a legitimate concern.

for me the bigger issue is coming off a SB loss? historically, this doesn't bode well for the 49ers, whatever the reasons? obviously, we can't get off to a bad start, especially with two West opponents.

Reid does kinda look like Shock G/Humpty Hump. Maybe someone should tweet this picture to one of the vets & they make him dress up like Humpty for "initiation rituals"
