That doesn't surprise me. Vanek is a bonafide star with a not so dreadful contract (only 1 year on it)

I like vanek but they need to be patient. They also really need a solid dman if anything I want to see one brought in not another fwd. Maybe Lourd will be our chara....one can hope!

Looks like Homer did a good job in raising the price for clowe rags didn't get him cheap.

Bishop being shopped by sens should Read be used maybe even get a pick back??? I doubt that they'd let him go for a draft pick they need bodies for the playoffs...

That's exactly right. We're only 6 pts back of NJ and NYI with games in hand and 4 pts back of the Rags. Our special teams play is scorching hot and we're coming off easily the most impressive come from behind victory of the season. Not to mention the fact that about half of our remaining games are against the teams we need to pass to get in.

If we can continue to win our home games like tonight against Montreal, then take two of three on the road and head back home to beat Ottawa, anything is still possible here. The Devils, Rangers and Canes are all slumping right now. Those are 3 of the 5 teams we'd need to pass to get the 7th seed. It's certainly not out of the question.

I'd say no on Vanek and Bishop. I'm only interested in a defenseman if I am Homer. More than anything, it seems like we just have too many borderline players and need to consolidate.

Had 19:30 of ice time in last night's win over the Kings. Don't know if that's typical of what he logs.

based on the way people talk about his value, he makes me nervous. i do like the player though, i'm just not sure i'm willing to give up what it takes to get him (couturier+)

doesn't phase me at all either way.. they overpaid for him. and if they resign him, they give up another 2nd, making it a big overpayment.

Coots better get a whole lot better than this years performance because another year like this one nobody will be asking for him in a trade. Although the last few games he has showed some of the spark he had last season.
