read and conacher are pretty similar value wise i think (conacher probably slightly higher because he's a little more offensive and younger).. but i woulda been pissed if they traded read for bishop..

i was actually going to bring his name up earlier.. should be a low-risk, buy low.. acquisition.. but the flyers were at 50 contracts, so lets see who goes the otehr way

good move in my opinion. we needed a better backup behind bryz. will be interesting to see if they flyers are more tempted to buy out bryz in the offseason. won't know how i feel about this completely until i find out who they gave up to get him

There hasnt been a worse starting goalie than Bryz in the NHL in the past 2 years mason has got to be better than that.

still, he has a lot of potential. he's only 24 and was in the running for the vezina a couple years ago.

plus he hits RFA this summer, and you can probably get him at a lower cap hit because he's been so bad lately.

i like the acquisition, just waiting to see the return before i say i like the trade.

From what I hear, he was the only player involved. Not sure what pick (picks?) we're giving up, though.

at the very least he's better than boucher/leighton, and the flyers need a better backup goalie, even if bryz is the answer.
