Ok boys. This is my opinion how this season and offseason will go. My guess Mason will be our starting goaltender next season. Bryzy is history in my opinion. Offseason moves. Mez, Briere, and a couple of other pieces will be moved. Our possible targets will be Yandle and Bobby Ryan.

I just don't see that happening. Even if we don't keep Bryz Homer will have to look else where for a starter.

3rd rounder is in 2015. glad it's not this year's, kind of bizarre that it's not even next years?

edit: should've been obvious that it wasn't this years. this year's is part of the conditional trade for gags (3rd if they make the playoffs, 4th if they miss)

also, just for fun, looks like it's the flyers 4th round pick that goes to ottawa for bishop haha.. TB had it from the kubina deal.

Awaz we are buying out Bryz regardless of how good Mason does we arent gettin stuck with 7 or 8 more years of that contract

if mason doesn't do well, and it's not addressed further, i think they'll keep bryzy next year.

agreed though, no way he makes it past year with that contract.

none of this ridiculousness would have happened if management had just been fucking patient with Bob. I mean how many times do they have to fuck up with goalies to notice that they actually had a good one for once that just needed time to mature. this season is a total waste IMO.

oh and I'm sure that Briere will be back now shortly from his "injury" now that he can't be traded anymore. I really hate that overpaid piece of shit.

not management's fault. ed snider made the call on getting bryz. homer didn't have a choice, and once bryz was signed, bob was never going to get a fair shake to win the job back here. they did well to get what they got for bob.

Funniest/saddest thing I've read today...

#Flyers missed chance to get potential star goalie by not dealing for Bishop, who went from Ott to Tampa. I'd have offered Couts and a 2nd

I don't care what snider said to do, it made sense trying to bring Bryz in. Trading Bob made none. They got a 2nd rounder for him and then had to re-sign Leighton saving a whooping $700k & then trade to get Boucher back putting us right back at the same cap hit as we would have had for Bob. The biggest difference is that Bob can actual play goal. Now we have Steve Mason who had a good rookie year and has been atrocious since then. There is no way they can buy Bryz out with Mason as our only option. The only notable FA goalies this year are Howard and Backstrom who will both cost a boatload then the next tier is Smith and Emery(I'm all for bringing razor back honestly).

This whole situation is fucked. Talbot got legitimately hurt and I hope he recovers quickly. Mez has been made of glass all season. Briere is just a giant vagina and I think is fake an injury to avoid all the hate that will rain down on him for not waiving his ntc. I'm just wondering if Homer even made calls saying guys like Fedetenko, Gange, Coburn & anyone else he could approach about waiving their ntc were available. We should have been stocking up on picks/prospects now not sitting around doing jack shit.

This off season something big needs to happen cause Homer can't keep building a team to play one style with the coach wanting to play another and the owner chirping in everyone's ear forcing the whole organization into a bad position.

people seem to think his account was hacked. that's just an outrageous statement.

I saw that but sadly I think they were joking about it being hacked.

wooo sah bandits.. wooo sah

when you're paying a goalie 5.9 for 10 years, you're not paying him to compete for the starting job.. and you make moves to make him comfortable.. that's why bob was traded.. it hasn't worked out as bryz hasn't returned to all-star form.. the second bryz was signed it made perfect sense to move bob.. keep in mind, there was no buyout option when bryz was signed either.. bryz was going to be a flyers goalie for 10 years, bob was never going to get a shot.. acquiring bryz was the nail in bob's coffin.

We were never gonna finish with either the worst record or second worst so Seth was never an option we are to good to finish that bad.

Never say never Las. At some point the hockey gods have to reward us back for this horrific season.
