The theory is you draft fwds as they can play sooner but then your stuck making trades for dmen which isn't easy. Dmen are also harder to figure out in the draft so the concept isn't flawed but it would be nice to take a stab at one from time to time especially when they slide to you.

The articles good but almost sounds like a jump out of the plane when in reality with a few tweaks things are really not that bad there's a lot of talent to work with.

i was thinking this too as i read it.. but i think the author was just trying to list some of the things that could happen.. not that everything on that list will/should happen

Hey, this is Marcello, the author. I saw the link to this post show up as a trackback on our site and just wanted to jump in here.

First of all, thanks for reading and linking to the piece.

You're right, I am just listing some things that could happen and I'm certainly not saying all of them should.

The Flyers really do have a lot of talent at the NHL level, especially on offense. I can't wait to see these guys when they are in their prime.

Thanks again!

Hey! I'd love to. It's been a while since I was an active participant in a hockey forum. Should be fun.

That was very cool of Marcello to come in. I'm curious about Bryzy being bought out. We all know that this is probably Homer's worst contracts ever, but it's possible that the next goaltender who comes in, may be a flop. Bryzy has been pretty good this year. He is a workhorse. I wish there is a way to restructure his contract. Is this allowed under the current CBA?

A workhorse yes pretty good no way. He has been horrible. He has been pulled multiple times he is tied for 32nd in the NHL for GAA just an all around bad investment by us. Out with the old and in with the new.
