Briere as a hired gun for a playoff run holds alot of stock.

He has more points then anyone in the playoffs since the lockout

I know, but if I were another team's GM I wouldn't give up a lot for him. But that's because I'm jaded fan who has had to watch his trash every other night or so for the last two seasons.

anyways I know he has struggled this season. I still think he would be a great piece for a team with a shot at the cup.

Id love to try to pry Gardiner from the Leafs

No, the trash where he does absolutely nothing for the entire regular season. It's not smart to pay out the ass for a somebody who only turns it on for the playoffs...especially with a team that probably won't make the playoffs. Kind of a waste.

i think it is trash when a team that is in desperate need of scoring cant rely on a 6+ million dollar guy because he is only supposed to be good in the playoffs, they need him to score right now.

Yeah, I don't get it. I mean if he can mentally turn it on in the playoffs then why can't he do the same for the regular season.

Anybody see this i pulled it from a disney poster.

here is a quote from Ryan,
"Frustrated with Ducks management, the 25-year-old left wing suggested
he's up for a trade anywhere and that the Flyers would be his first
choice.

"I heard Anaheim was a little overwhelmed with offers and they only took
four seriously, but none of the teams were mentioned to me other than
Philly," Ryan said. "Everybody wants to play in your hometown, but it
would be tough because a lot of expectations come when you're put into a
situation like that. For me, if I'm moved, Philadelphia would be a very
ideal and comfortable place for me."

Ryan concedes he'd love playing on a line with Flyers star center Claude
Giroux, who finished third in the league in scoring last season with 93
points and added 17 points in 10 postseason games.

"He's an incredible, one-of-a-kind player," Ryan said. "I'm very
fortunate where I am with (Anaheim linemates) Ryan Getzlaf and Corey
Perry when we're together, but Claude Giroux has done things to elevate
his team to a new level. If I were to come to Philly, I would love to be
alongside him."

Bob Ryan, who still lives in Cherry Hill, definitely is hoping his son
comes home, but he'd be fine with any change for the better.

"In my mind, the Flyers are the best that there is," Bob Ryan said. "But
I just want to see him happy. The only place he can't go is the
Rangers. I'd never hear the end of it from Clarkie."

Heard they were looking at Boyle. Big salary not sure what to think as he's still a pretty good player in a position of need.

I would definately want Boyle but who to give up for a guy like that is the key to getting him.

Saw some one else speculating about Briere to MTL for picks but that was dependent on him being healthy and waiving NMC.

I'm good on all accounts JJ. As much as I'd hate to trade Coots, in order to get a stud you have to give up a big piece to do so. I'd make that deal. As for Briere, make that deal. It unloads a big cap hit and we can def use those picks and build our farm.
