he said about 20 minutes before the jvr/schenn trade that the leafs and flyers were talking but it WAS NOT about jvr/schenn.

and also, the flyers, rangers, leafs, and canucks are 'major players' in every big name free agent. regardless of age, contract, or position.

that's about all you need to know about the guy.

Im even open to trading Briere, although he doesn't take stupid penalties anymore, but what good is he if ur not in the playoffs. Just have to trade him to a contender and see if he will wave his NTC.
Fedatenko needs to bounce along with Gervais to, just to make room for Gusty and Wellwood/Harry Z to get them in the lineup.

Here is my prediction from now till the offseason. We will be sellers( no surprise here). Briere is gone before or by the trade deadline. I think Coburn or one of our dmen will go. Lavi will be fired after the Pens game. I think that this will be the offseason we make a trade and get Bobby Ryan after Anaheim's Cup run. Just my gut. Almost sound like Eklund, eh?

Out of all of the Blues young gun dmen I know the least about him. Give me some info on him. How good do you project him to be?

Next season and beyond. Draft is a good start but that won't help us for at least a few years from now.

That's the unfortunate part we are in. We don't have a #1 dman stashed in our farm system. We gambled on Suter and Weber and got boned for it. If we were to trade for a top dman at any point these days, it's going to cost us big. It's a tough place to be. Timmonen may pull off one more season but doubtful. Losing Carle hurt us more than I thought.

i go mostly off that and the fact that i dont think briere could bring back shattenkirk or pietrangelo (obviously) and i think cole is 3rd best

IMO if lavy doesn't get fired today, he'll be the coach in the fall. i say that because if you're going to try to make a push this season you have to fire the coach, and the flyers are basically gifted that opportunity with 5 days off here. fire him today, let the new guy (presumably murray) get what amounts to another training camp (this season), to get them going.. plus guys like schenn and couturier played his system earlier in the season in the A

Hmmm...it says he has the potential to be a top for dman. We have lots of those already. He would still be an upgrade but ultimately won't be the answer. I guess we could try and get a guy like that and go after the #1 dman in the draft.

Good point. This will be a very long 5 days to look at the teams catch up to you and the teams above you increase the points. This really hurts.

they're toast. time to just relax, watch the game for individual players to see how they're playing

it's not completely out of the question that the flyers could sit in 29th place by the time the pens game rolls around

Why keep Lavy? Either he and his system has to go OR we need a whole new team with players that match his system.
