Following up on the Peavy acquisition, MLBTR reporting that Cain is paying a visit to Dr James Andrews. Eesh.

Has there EVER been a pitcher signed to a 5 yr+ megadeal who ended up worth it?

I guess there must have been a couple but I can't think of any.

A's going all-in.

Lester/Gomes and cash for Cespedes and a draft pick.

Lacky to the Cards for Joe Kelly and Allen Craig. This trade market is ridiculous.

The Cards traded Craig????? But their offense is already anemic...

Mariners (who were going after Rios and had Denorfia as a fall back, have indeed traded for Chris Denorfia

Not that I want the Giants to trade prospects, but assuming getting Rios is a "good" thing for the Giants...

This is good news. One of the major players has officially gone to their back-up plan...

"Source: Giants, Rangers in midst of ongoing trade conversations involving Alex Rios"

God, these "professionals" really make me laugh (cry) sometimes.

First, it was the article on mlb.com yesterday that both Colvin and Uggla had been released (and which stated that room was needed on the 40-man roster for Pagan, Belt, and H Sanchez ).

The above "tweet from the twit" isn't *factually* wrong (that I know of) but WHAT he wrote. If talks are ongoing, then yes, they are in the midst of them (and have been, for some time). We need to stamp out and abolish redundancy !!!

Wow. The more I look at the Cards/Sox trade, the more of a head scratcher it is.

St Louis sold WAY LOW on Craig (maybe they know something we don't??) and got a good rental (but not OMG Ace). AND they throw in a good, young, 6th man?

Not sure I understand this one.

Opens up room for Taveras (Adams moves to 1B).

I agree though, selling low on Craig. This trade market though is rich for sellers.

Looks like Price is going to Detroit.

I gotta think the Tigers heated talks up once they saw the A's get Lester.

Seattle involved in trade, getting Austin Jackson for Nick Franklin. Jackson was taken out of the field mid inning (mid count in fact).

Tampa got fleeced IMO. Seattle gave up Nick Franklin for Austin Jackson. That's it. Tigers gave up Jackson, Drew Smyly for Price. Tampa gets Franklin and Smyly.

edit: I should say, considering the market. Smyly and Franklin are 2 good young players.
