Lavert for Rubio expiring and a lottery protected 1st?

Makes me think Turner is going to be cheaper than I thought.

Because of his low salary he can’t really bring back much.

yep that too. Dallas would pretty much have to include Porzingis but trading Brunson would be silly this year unless they think there is no way they can resign him

Sabonis likely played his last game as a Pacer

@WiggyRuss @dtgold88

"Cleveland now has both enough wiggle room left to re-sign Sexton to a fair deal and stay below the tax … and enough of a backup plan to let him walk if the numbers get too high. With 12 players already signed for next year, Cleveland could feel pretty good about using its non-taxpayer midlevel exception on another guard, adding a cheap veteran wing, and calling it a day."

Rubio could be that guy who knows??

Hollinger: When comparing Caris LeVert and Norman Powell deals, it's all about the contracts

Hollinger mentions a couple other things of relevance -

. The Cavs were $40 million below the projected tax line next year before today's trade.

. In his view, the Cavs slightly overpaid for LeVert when taking into account the fact that the Houston 2nd round pick given up will be close to a 1st round pick. However, he also notes that the '22 draft is believed to be pretty bad.

. At $18.9 million, LeVert is being paid slightly more than he's worth.

. Since Rubio's injury, when Garland comes out of the game, the Cavs score almost 9 points less per 100 possessions, which illustrated the Cavs' need to find someone that can make a play on the perimeter and also get the ball inside to Allen and Mobley. But, he also points out what people on this thread have discussed, which is that LeVert is a reluctant ball distributor. He suggests that Love's pick-and-pops might turn into pick-and-watches. To me, that's the biggest concern, particularly when you consider that a major reason Love had his meltdown last year was due to the lack of team passing

Good point. Very least we can now afford another max (or at least a big deal) when another young guy is eligible

Never know how they mesh but if this works out Altman has to win Exec of year, right?

They landed Levert for basically a late pick lol

From LeBron leaving- to being here 4 years later is awesome.

Some teams wallow in mediocrity for years and years. Cavs had pretty much an empty cupboard---- they had the Sexton pick, and Kevin Love- which the team has taken so much grief for.

Going from that to the core they have has been remarkable.

Great culture. Right guys at coach and GM. An owner that will pay what it takes- and a great young core.

REally fun.

I imagine Turner is going to be traded straight up for Bouknight and Plumlee.
