I think he just means, one more year left on the deal by that time Garland will be resigned. CLE having enough for a max spot doesn’t make sense anyway. They have built through the draft and trades and that will continue. Koby working magic
Good point. Very least we can now afford another max (or at least a big deal) when another young guy is eligible

Never know how they mesh but if this works out Altman has to win Exec of year, right?

They clearly didn't want to pay LeVert this summer when they are doing a teardown. But they could have gotten more
Maybe...but if this were true why didn't someone offer more? Pacers just wanted to be nice to the Cavs?

If so, thanks I guess.

Fair point. Maybe this is indeed the best offer.

Seems like what is basically two firsts for levert is pretty solid

One thing, I guess, that could support your opinion is maybe the Cavs said they'd move on and had someone else who was getting this deal for their player if Indiana didn't act now?

I do like this deal, of course, as we didn't give up much, but not like Levert is a star (or close). Just someone we badly need with no Sexton/Rubio this year.

Great move by the Cavs. They pretty much just drafted LeVert with like the 18th-23rd ish pick of the first round of the 2022 draft. That likely projects to the project that would have been on the board. Pacers really lost this move. Can’t believe LeVert didn’t have more value than that.

Surprised, very early to talk long-term but they can always trade him

That Houston second plus another two is basically another first rounder.

Indiana made a move last year to move from that spot to the lakers pick last year iirc

If you mean a back end of the first round sure. But I look at it the opposite way. Not a hell of a lot of difference between pick 20 and 40.

Wonder what they offered. Must be one of their young bigs, trez, draft picks, and etc

Gotta start with rui and Kispert and I don’t think they can trade a first until at least 2025

I doubt Indiana wants Dinwiddie so that would limit their options.

Rui, Bryant/Harrell, Gafford and future 1st
