I have seen Mella pitch three times since Spring Training, and he has not impressed me any of the times. He still has time to develop, and the tools seem there. He throws hard, but can be pretty erratic. It is a SSS, but he has pitched poorly in each game I went to. The latest in Stockton, he appeared rattled early, and lasted less than three innings, struggling with command.

Sad to see Duvall go, but he was never getting to the Show in SF to stay. Glad he got a cuppo last year. Glad he gets a chance to do something with the Reds

That's what I am thinking about THud. He got his win against the A'ssss. He has had some family issues this season as well.

And what happens to Biggie? He is valuable, but has not performed as well this year as last year. Perhaps Vogey takes his place?

Mella and Duvall is a GREAT package to send for a piece that we can actually use. I was never sold on Mella and Duval has no defense, so he had zero future in SF.

I mentioned Leake as a potential target way back in May or so. As the season went on, of course I wanted a bigger piece, but now we have 3 solid SP with a potential 4th (Peavy first with Cain as his backup).

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this trade!
