Canucks need to make playoffs this year given that they are in position now (and with the conditional first on JT miller trade).
say we miss, and then are in a complete must make situation next year, assuming Vegas will bounce back, maybe Calgary bounces back, we will have cap issues with our UFAs. Do we even have Marsktrom next year? It could be a tough road.

I guess to me throwing good money after bad (and it’s not like it’s that bad - Miller’s been good and they could probably flip him for a pretty good package if they wanted to) just to spare the blushes is bad management.

But what’s done is done - if they miss the playoffs now everything you said still comes true with the added bonus of having expended additional assets.
