Might be asking too little considering the other payouts.
Maybe, but that's why I'm just a dumb schmuck on a hockey forum lol

And to show what a dummy I am, it looks like Hamonic is going to be out for a considerable length of time (even longer than Gio, according to Geoff Ward). No way the Flames are trading away any defensemen now.
Ryan Murray and Josh Anderson for Sean Monahan & second?
So he knows that he may be without one of his best players and he still decided to double down?
I agree - can’t have a mediocre season after so many good ones under his management.I think Benning has entered self-preservation mode - He knows he's gone if the Canucks miss the playoffs.
I'm totally OK with this.So he knows that he may be without one of his best players and he still decided to double down?

I guess to me throwing good money after bad (and it’s not like it’s that bad - Miller’s been good and they could probably flip him for a pretty good package if they wanted to) just to spare the blushes is bad management.I'm totally OK with this.
Canucks need to make playoffs this year given that they are in position now (and with the conditional first on JT miller trade).
say we miss, and then are in a complete must make situation next year, assuming Vegas will bounce back, maybe Calgary bounces back, we will have cap issues with our UFAs. Do we even have Marsktrom next year? It could be a tough road.
I saw one thing on the tweets that put it into perspective.
Imagine the reaction in town if Vegas or Calgary landed Toffoli. * riot boy picture *
At this stage, making the playoffs (after 6 years away) IS parade worthy.
Yes.I'm confused - Are we talking about Benning or Treliving?!?

Yeah he should make a few more deals to ensure they make it this year.
