I am letting this team to do this to me once again. I should know better having been burned so many times, but what the hell. This team is edging toward a possible WC spot, and after writing off this season (like all of the last 20 or so seasons) I'm actually letting myself have a little hope again and getting (just a little) excited. I guess that;s what happens with addicts :pound: - you just can't give up "that feeling" when the M's
still give you that "fix" of maybe coming back. It's kinda like the smell of coffee brewing in the morning, or bacon frying of the stove, or the smell fresh bread baking. Anyone know of a good 12 step program for sports addictions??? :noidea: HELP!!

Was I high? No one disputed Julio, Gilbert and Kirby weren’t carrying their weight. Problem was no one else was. Jerry did nothing to make them better from them being in the gutter to where they are at, hence why I posed the question if Scott did something to rally the team and it sparked something. That is on you if you think the Santana deal was anything more than just a warm body to cover for the France injury.

And of course your last sentence is correct. That is exactly the definition of a having good trade deadline.
I said Santana was a stopgap. Maybe you don't know what that means? He has made a difference in several games though defensively.

I can count more games where Servais has cost them, than games where his changes helped them win.

IMO neither dipoto nor Servais are capable of of leading our building as WS champion. Dipoto is better than most we've had in last 20 years at building up the foundation. Farm system is pretty solid, payroll is in good shape.

They can get you into the playoffs. Just not convinced either can go deep in the playoffs.

The Mariners have the pitching and the defense, but they don't have the hitting. Maybe they will by October, but right now they just don't.

I wasn't speaking of just this year. I don't think either are quality enough leaders to ever see this team win the WS.

They get credit for rebuilding the farm system and might reach the payoff of ending the playoff drought this year or next, but it feels like that is near their ceiling.

It will take someone else to cross the finish line.

I hope I am wrong ... but I got a bad feeling about tonites game.

Ray is due to lay an egg after half a dozen or so quality starts.

Our bats may take a night off also.

I would love to be wrong here

Don't we all feel that way most games and just take it as a good surprise when they win?

Well... he's doing it to Vlad Jr. Now, as well, at least. This fucking guy sucks at his job.

And of course, Vlad, just like his dad always did, got a hit off of us on a pitch a foot outside the strike zone

Bases juiced, 2 out, and only up one run, came away with the win.

1 game back in WC.

Are you kidding me?

They have now won 15 of last 18. Their best 18 game stretch since 2003.

It's still not a playoff appearance, but so much better than what we suffered in May.

Oh, and @wazzu31, Santana scored all of our runs today. :becky:

Maybe too little too late for the division but WC is very much in play. However, that East division is absolutely stacked.
