So they're 17-5 in 19 seasons?

Well technically it is 20 seasons since 94.

But I am counting the next 2 wins that I have foreseen.

edit: high and or drank addition.

Cheesus. I was way off. Must have really been on one. or CFB Trivia's website failed me.

Oregon is 15-4 since the 1994 season. They didn't play in 2001 out of those 20 seasons.

1. Putting southern football on the map with the 1926 Rose Bowl. The start of a 4-1-1 record 1926-1946. It was the 1st Rose Bowl to be broadcast on the radio. Bama still has more Rose Bowl appearances and wins than most Pac/B1G teams, despite being locked out of the game going on 70 years.

2. The 1946 Rose Bowl. Bama 34 USC 14. The game that pissed the west coast off so bad that they took their ball and ran home and tied-in with the B1G just so they could win one. A non-Pac/B1G team would not play in the game again until the 2002 BCSCG, Miami vs Nebraska.

3. The Bear Bryant years.

4. Shutting Miami up in the 1992 championship game. One of the best defenses I've ever seen and the only defense I've ever seen play an 11 man line of scrimmage and dare a Heisman winning QB to throw the ball.

5. The Saban years.

I heard about this growing up, and I must say that is truly badass. (I was born in 94) Never seen the footage, but it must have been awesome.

Fun Fact: Our OL coach was a starting OL for Miami in the game (Cristobal).

btw, I'm watching the 92 game now, and if you just want to see 11 on the line, go to 30:30 in.

1. 2007 season and how football was a means to come together and escape the pain of 4/16/07. That first game was one of the first steps back to 'normal'.

2. 1999 season - NCG versus FSU as huge underdogs and holding the lead after 3 quarters. Helped solidify VT in the national picture. Special teams let us down with Peter Warwick lighting us up and showing the difference in talent level and depth. One thing we always seem to struggle with against elite teams (tiring in the 4th quarter due to depth).

3. 1995 Sugar Bowl win versus Texas. First major bowl win and was improbable considering the 0-2 start, only to go undefeated the remaining of the year.

4. 2004 ACC championship when we weren't given a chance coming into the season as our first in the ACC.

5. Sticking with Beamer through the first six seasons. There will never be another program (VT included) that will stay with a coach through those season results, however, there was a lot of problems due to the sanctions and trust that Beamer was a good coach regardless of record. Even the losses where winnable games, so the AD and president trusted that eventually VT could be a consistent winner under Beamer.
