to me, this is very close...

Randolph was much better at defense(not close), he walked at a better pace(18.5%,13.1% vs 14.8%,9.7%, and had a better SB%, and struck out at a better pace.

While Carew had the better BA(.388,.328 vs .327,.276), more SBs, and more PAs.

I think I am actually going to go with Willie Randolph because both players look like a top of the lineup guy, and I think Randolph had slightly better top of the lineup skills... even though carew is the clear better hitter...

Carew stopped being a regular 2B after '75, so I am completely ignoring his numbers past that.

Carew was still the much better bat. But he only played 9 seasons (at 2nd) vs Randolph's 17 seasons.

Carew had 5 season at 130 OPS+ against Randolph's 3 seasons of 120 (with 1 130).

While Randolph was a more prolific base stealer, he only has 3 seasons of 30+ SB while maintaining a 75% rate. Carew had 1. Only 3 seasons in 17 as a "dominant" SB season is not a good rate.

Randolph has the defensive reputation over Carew, but I do not believe Carew had a BAD reputation.

For 2B, I am not a huge fan of Carew (only in regards to the context of this tournament), but he was an elite bat during his short time there, and Randolph really doesnt bring anything to the table to give me a reason to vote against Carew.
