What will he cost the Broncos? You know Jerry Jones isn't going to give him away. With the Cowboys losing to the Packers as I type, he might be more valuable to Jerry than anyone else.

Romo's cap space might be more important to Dallas then Romo. They really need to improve on D.

You know, reading the reactions of Chiefs fans to the loss last night they are really lamenting not having a top tier QB. Smith is under rated and under appreciated by their fans. That team was complete garbage before Smith's arrival but in the years since he arrived they've been 11-5, 9-7, 11-5, 12-4. Just that 1-3 playoff record is what's killing them.

It makes me wonder if the Chiefs pursue Romo. He'd be an upgrade over smith. They have a potentially top tier receiving core in Kelce (grade-A douche bag but great player too), Maclin, and now Hill and Conley. Now signing Romo would be saying goodbye to some key ingredients on defense and eating some dead money on Smith's contract, but it would instantly upgrade that offense potentially to a top-5 unit (until Romo got hurt).

Just a thought.

I am not sure they can afford Romo and Smith dead money. They are tight on cap space from what I understand.

True. I doubt they can make it work with the money they have available. It's going to be hard enough to retain the talent needed on defense to keep that unit performing st its current level. Still, I'd love to see them try this and put themselves in cap hell for several seasons. This is a big part of why the Raiders sucked for so long. Dorsey is not likely to make this mistake though.

I seriously doubt Jones will pay Romo to sit on the bench another year. Cowboys may try to get something for him, but they may not get much if teams think he will be released.

Getting Romo out of town to not pay his contract is the best thing the Cowboys would be getting in a deal. Peace.

Also look at the Texan's defense beating up Brady only to waste a great performance because of sub par QB play.

There is a reason why Brady , Manning or Big Ben has been in the Super Bowl for AFC the 9 or the last 10 years.

It's a waste to watch our defense dominate and the QB struggle.

I don't see the Cowboys finding a team to trade with that's willing to take on Romo's current contract. In addition, Dallas may want to spread out their dead money hit they would take on Romo. (He has $19.6MM on the books as a pro rated signing bonus.).

I expect Dallas will try to trade Romo, but will probably end up releasing him instead. The recent injury history would be too much of a red flag for the majority of teams. Those that would be interested likely aren't interested at $14 MM.

Agree Boh - Romo would seem to go for $7-8 Million with incentives up to 12-14 million, based on his age - injury history ect.
