My guess is they let him coach the bowl game to see if he can pull off a win against a likely over-matched team (based on Texas' record and likely caliber of bowl opponent). If he loses, though, he's done.

They'd be insane not to make a play for Urban Meyer, but I say they don't get him and Herman lasts until next season.

Herman decided to go with ehlinger and not even try to develop a real run game with an eye to his own job security... instead of the correct and possibly more volatile choice of Shane and actually having to develop a run game. It prolly would have meant more losses in year one, but would have given us a chance to be great... something we don’t have with a glorified fullback behind center and not even an attempt at a real run game.
So, they’ll let him play through blockhead Ehlinger’s senior year

You have no QB committed for 2020. No QB for 2021. Casey is your only backup and he is well, average.

It's crazy that texas can't land a top guy to play the position. To me it looks like Herman knows he is fired so he isnt even trying to get a QB. Like you said, he will ride out the final year with Ehlinger and then adios and ya'll gonna be fucked for 2 more years with no QB.

I don't really care. I was over Stidham, Kerryon was hurt, our star DB elected not to play and the o-line was on its last leg. Honestly typical bowl game for Gus. I'm just grateful we didn't get completely embarrassed.

Pretty much same story for the Sugar Bowl verses Oklahoma except you can add in our QB broke his arm on the first series. Shit I'm use to it by now and it just feels normal.
