Exactly!!!....run the ball effectively and 9 times out of ten it's much easier to pass the ball, wins go up exponentially too. Interesting how that works out.

This gets back to my pt about stats not telling the whole story. Cousins improvement has to come in areas that cannot necessarily be shown via stats. The most obvious one is coming through late in the game in big games. He will likely have several chances to prove himself in this area this season - we will see.

This is an area where the con KC posters have a legitimate beef. KC needs to be more consistent in this area. He has shown up flat in some big games. But not all, as they conveniently forget. But he does need to improve. The thing is that many, if not most, have issues like this early in their careers. Go back and look at some of the games greatest in the last 20 years and see how they did their first 32 starts. Compare that to Cousins. He doesn't look too bad and one could draw the conclusion that this is an area that does improve with playing time. Doesn't mean that KC will, just that many have. This is why we need to play this out and why the FO fucked up big time in not signing him last year before the 2016 season. We could have locked him up long term, with pretty generous outs, for a fraction of what he is going to cost the team that does sign him next offseason.

well alex smith clearly outplayed tom brady in this game . does that mean we should have a red flag on brady ? the point of this whole thread was to show dean and his ilk that even the GOAT makes mistakes , quite a few of them each game , and that having a bad outing doesnt make a career or season

every pass KC throws is dissected into oblivion every choice , everything he says or does

no KC isnt elite , he is a very good qb and that is how he should be viewed

money isnt an issue

I don't envision or expect Cousins to be Brady at all/ever. I do expect to see growth, improvement and continued leadership. I hope that entails learning and absorbing the nuances of playing QB in the NFL which includes running no huddle impromptu or any other sophisticated schemes required to win on offense. Cousins has proven diligent and smart enough to take more on this year so I want to see it. I believe he is capable so time to take the reins off him Gruden.
