Chris Simms: "Brady Not Top 5" - Hammer Loves this!

Chris Simms Says Tom Brady Is Not A Top 5 NFL Quarterback « CBS Boston

BOSTON (CBS) – Teams and players are always looking for bulletin board material to fire them up and get them ready for a big game.
For the 2014 New England Patriots — especially through the first four weeks of the season — that bulletin board material wasn’t hard to find.
“The Patriots just aren’t that good anymore.”
“Tom Brady is all done.”
“Rob Gronkowski will never be the same Gronk.”
“Aqib Talib has been better than Darrelle Revis.”
“Bill Belichick has lost it.”
On and on and on.
It’s now almost Week 11, and the Patriots sit at 7-2 atop the AFC and possess a two-game lead in the division. Not much brewing in terms of controversy, right?
Well Chris Simms had an interesting bit of information in Peter King’s latest ‘Monday Morning Quarterback’ column.
Simms analyzes the NFL for Bleacher Report and CBS Sports, this coming on the heels of a coaching stint in New England.
The former quarterback was a quality control coach for the Patriots for the last three years, or as he described in the column, “basically a bitch boy.” But the most interesting part of the interview came when King asked Simms about the five best quarterbacks playing today.
The MMQB: Best five quarterbacks in the NFL today.
Simms: “I hate how everybody just says Tom Brady and Peyton Manning are the best two quarterbacks in football. They’re not. Are they gonna be 65 years old and we’ll all be saying, “Brady and Manning are still the best?” Tom Brady’s not in my top five. I mean, he’s still really good, but I like other guys better. I’d go Aaron Rodgers one, Andrew Luck two, Ben Roethlisberger three, Russell Wilson four and Peyton five.”
Well there you have it. Tom Brady is not in Chris Simms’ top five.
Somehow I feel like Tom Brady is not losing sleep over this slight from Simms. Simms was taken in the third round of the 2003 draft, played for 3 different teams and started 16 games total before retiring after the 2010 season.

Chris Simms would know about as much about Top 5 QBs as a Texans OC would.

He want's to be the next Trent Dilfer. The article is actually pretty funny. He worked for Belichick and realized what coaching was all about and decided he didn't work that hard. :)

He realized he only got where he was because of his last name.

Bizarre - just like his college career. Wonder who he thinks was the best QB at Texas during his time there?

Most Longhorn fans would probably say Applewhite.

some needs to smack him outside his head. Wait that might kill him.

I'm not the biggest Brady backer here(trust me i have seen some huge brady backers) but to Say he is not top 5 considering everything he has done.

3* superbowl Champ
2 SB Mvp
mulitple NFL MVP and OPOY
Multiple pro bowlers

and the biggest thing

he took a above average(not good or great) to the AFC tittle game

I respect the hell out of Brady and Manning. Both are 2 of the best of all time

oh side note: thanks mr. simms for putting Wilson at 4 :D

Granted no one should take this kid seriously anyway and he made a comment that the media took and ran with.
