quiet frankly I believe it falls on your coaching staff. 1.) gotta realize that Rico is never going to be anything better than what he is now. This is his 3rd year with little to few improvements. Could argue he has gotten worse. So strike against your staff for not having another QB ready to go.

2.) There is apparently no such thing as offensive adjustments at Nebraska. Last few years you guys do not show in the second half.

You could say those same things about Gill, Frazier, Frost, Crouch. They were not prolific passers.

NU's troubles are up front on both sides of the ball.

I think it's a bit of coaching, a bit of strength and conditioning, and a bit of leadership within the units.

This loss wasn't Martinez' fault.

A good point was made that this coaching staff needs to get the back-up quarterback/s quality playing time. If the Huskers are going to stick with Martinez, one bad injury to him could change things drastically, and we need a back-up QB with more than garbage time reps. Same goes with the middle linebacker position and other positions as well.

I was fucking ecstatic when Taylor made that 92 yard run.........I mean, you wanna talk about a Heisman-like play........one that they could easily replay several times during the season if we had won that game and continued to win.

I am very happy that Taylor is our QB right now. 30 points should be enough to win a game. Wish we could have scored a few more in the 2nd half, but 30 should have been enough.

Taylor has done nothing to remove himself from premature heisman talks...unfortunately, in today's CFB world his TEAM did remove him from premature heisman talk. Unless your name is Robert Griffin III, a team wins a heisman almost as much as an individual player does

Don't take this wrong. I am one of the biggest Martinez supporters but;

He is good if he has no pressure. If he has pressure his passes are off and his decisions are bad. Albeit he had horrible protection that last quarter against UCLA he still couldn't complete a pass.

Today he is good because the pocket is holding up. Arkie lite is a respectable team but they are not a Michigan State, Ohio State or even UCLA.

He has no hopes for the Heisman with this team.

See post above. No pressure.

I posted this in the game thread, but belongs here....

I don't disagree with you, but there are not many qb's that play well when they have big time pressure. Almost all good qb's are helped immensely by having good protection and time to work. To classify them as "folding" under pressure carries a connotation that it is somehow an inherent flaw in their mental make up and skills as a qb.....

Of course getting hit every time is going to fuck with your head.....that's the whole point of putting pressure on the qb.....

I'm just saying you can't disregard what he does when he has good protection and time to see the field and only look at when he had no protection and sucked....

Nobody thinks Peyton Manning is a shitty qb because the Blackshirts made him their bitch in January 98.....

....and no, I'm not saying Martinez is Peyton Manning.....

Just saying, I think Taylor looks much better this year and I don't blame him for having a sucky second half last week when a DL got to him before the snap did......

And no, I'm not in the Martinez for Heisman camp......

Well said. If anything Taylor is improved this year in the game management aspect of the game. That is extremely important for when they get into conference play.
