It certainly was a huge stage to me..........until I came to the realization somewhere midway through the 2nd quarter that we weren't very good on Defense.

That was a top 15 team playing a team that shouldn't have been ranked for sure.

I'll make this post, and then i'll quit my thread derail.

Don't blame anyone but the guy that Wilson handed the ball off to. Ball vastly overshadowed

Plus, go ahead and continue to pick and choose numbers that not many people look at. How many QBs do you see that didn't throw over 200 yards in 6 of his games get real Heisman consideration? Yeah yeah yeah, please come back at me with all these other numbers. The fact is that he closed the season with mediocre passing numbers and got completely overshadowed by a better player lining up behind him.

I was at 12 of 14 Badger games lat year. There is zero doubt in my mind that Russell Wilson was the best player on our offense. I love Montee, but it wasn't that close IMO.

At the end of the year, he was the clear hero of the B1G Championship Game and the best player in the Rose Bowl. He did all of this with a completely banged up wide receiving corp, an offensive line that was missing two starters, and dealing with terrible weather.

As for the pure numbers, he was 300 passing yards short on Andrew Luck despite not throwing a pass in the fourth quarter in most of his games.

When you're a QB, you have to win big games to get consideration for the Heisman.......plain and simple.

Wilson didn't do a damn thing on the big stage.........unless you want to call the Nebraska game a big stage

In our 'big stage games" (Nebraska, MSU x2, OSU, PSU, Oregon), he went 103-151 for 1,400 yards, 14TDs, and 3 Interceptions. That's a QB Rating of 173. In all three losses he played great and led drives to get Wisconsin back in the lead.

If he played poorly on the big stage, i'd like to see an example of someone who played well.

End of thread derail.......

LOL 2 smart thinking because he attended the games he somehow has a better idea than everyone else of who the better player is.

The bolded were losses.........

Losses = no bueno for a QB winning Heisman......unless you play for a school like Baylor where losing is expected

Is Nebraska thinking of launching a Heisman campaign for Burkhead? Martinez won't win it, but I could definitely see Rex in the finals. The publicity aspect is a sad part of the Heisman process, but at this point it is sort of necessary if you want to win.

I really think Taylor has a better shot than Rex due to the fact that Abdullah will be taking a good share of the carries this season.....

If Nebraska wins games, Taylor will get some recognition.

If taylor by some miracle actually had a 70 percent completion percentage, I would put him as a lock to win the Heisman and us winning a national title.

I mean, obviously I think Taylor's chances are slim as hell..........

I just don't think Rex's chances are good because of the reasons stated above. We are a deep team Offensively. We will gain more yards through the air this season too. Bookmarkit.

Yeah, keep bringing up the Oregon game as if what Wisconsin did in that game mean a damn thing. You do realize that the Heisman is given out before the bowl games right?

You have lost your mind if you think Wilson was more important than Ball.
