There's a reason he was allowed to throw 30+ times against those two defenses.

Oklahoma State's secondary was atrocious. They were ranked in the triple digits in pass defense and Northwestern's pass D was ranked 71st last year.

Going into those 2 game OSU had the 118th "best" pass defense in the country giving up 290.80 ypg and NW had the 78th "best" pass defense giving up 238 ypg. Also going into those games Nebraska was averaging 156.80 ypg (2010) and 160.25 ypg (2011). Then Nebraska goes out and throws for 323 vs OSU and 289 vs NW? That is a HUGE boost in numbers.

Oops, I looking at the wrong week. Going into the OSU game Nebraska was only averaging 143.5 ypg.

After the NW game Nebraska went from 160 ypg to 174 ypg and then ended the year at 162 ypg only 4 games later.

After the OSU game Nebraska went from 143 ypg to 169 ypg an then ended the year at 150 ypg 7 games later.

Gigantic peaks and really low valleys. Each year Nebraska ended in the 100s for passing offense.

Don't blame anyone but the guy that Wilson handed the ball off to. Ball vastly overshadowed

Plus, go ahead and continue to pick and choose numbers that not many people look at. How many QBs do you see that didn't throw over 200 yards in 6 of his games get real Heisman consideration? Yeah yeah yeah, please come back at me with all these other numbers. The fact is that he closed the season with mediocre passing numbers and got completely overshadowed by a better player lining up behind him.
