Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy bacon
Aside from endorsement deals in Toronto, players are paid in US funds ergo Stamkos could make some pretty good coin just exchanging his US greenbacks for Canadian loonies.
This seems to be vastly overlooked.Aside from endorsement deals in Toronto, players are paid in US funds ergo Stamkos could make some pretty good coin just exchanging his US greenbacks for Canadian loonies.

Missed this the other day:
If Rychel even scores, like, 10 goals this year for Toronto this is one of the worst trades made. They didn't just sell low, they sold rock-bottom.
That's...that's what he's saying, BGD.I thought all NHL contracts were in USD ?
Yeah, I kinda had high hopes when we got him. That dissipated pretty, pretty, pretty quickly. The fall of Scott Harrington was certainly quick.

Torts will turn him into a pro.
Torts will turn him into a professional dog walker.
That is a combined rate, no? Including Federal?
In FL, he would be looking at 39.6% Federal plus 0% State.
And without trying to overcomplicate it, if Stamkos still has significant ties to Canada, he might still be a Canadian tax resident, regardless of where he plays.
They are, I'm just saying that NHL players living and playing in Canada certainly don't mind when the loonie is down like it currently is versus the US dollar.
FYI - Nevada is also 0% state income tax.
Update:
Chiasson ended up being really, really poor return for Jason Spezza.
Considering that the Stars' two first round picks prior to the Spezza trade were Nichushkin and Honka (albeit just days before), it would've been a lot better for the Sens had one of them been involved but...well, what can ya do now.Yeah. I mean the 2nd rounder (Gabriel Gagne) and Nick Paul could still be something but I would have loved to get the Nahsville trde that Spezz turned down. Rumoured to be Hornqvist, Spaling and 2015 1st rounder.
