Every year somebody gets screwed out of the tourney. The fact that Cuse plays in the ACC is probably the reason they got in. I agree they didn't deserve it, but it is what it is. They are going to roll Gonzaga next. I think they lose to Virginia in the Elite 8?

It's obviously why they made it, also why Pitt made it. Not surprised, just frustrated because that could have been SDSU's spot in the sweet 16. I definitely don't see them rolling Gonzaga who looked dominant in their last game. They might win, but it'll be close. Whether it's the Zags or Virginia, somebody needs to take em out.

a team that made it in the field based on their name goes in the sweet 16

last year UCLA made it thanks to the worst goaltending call I've ever seen and a win over UAB

I agree Syracuse shouldn't have gotten in, but ACC schools are now 23-2 in the first two rounds of the tourney over the last two years.

Those teams are going to get the benefit of the doubt when it comes to getting in, and they're at least winning. It'd be much worse to get in and be one and done.

Past tourney success of an entire conf. shouldn't be the reason an undeserving team makes it. The non power 5 schools like SDSU and Monmouth played tough OOC SOS's to build up their resume and then dominated their conf before losing in the championship and are on the outside to Tulsa and Cuse who had early round exits in their conference tourney's. Goes to show that if you're at least average in a power 5, you have a good chance of making it.

I'd get why you're upset if they were 1 and done, but they're winning.

they had a lot of good teams first of all

second of all they only had to beat one team from the top half of the field and that was 7th seeded Dayton.

Yeah, only three of them are "original" ACC. However, Miami's been in the ACC just as long as they were in the Big East. Also, as I said earlier, when I think of old school BE, I really don't think Notre Dame, either. South Carolina was in the ACC as long as Notre Dame was in the Big East. Syracuse is the exact definition of old school Big East though.

Plenty of P5 teams had favorable matchups, they just lost to inferior teams.

You'd obviously know better than I would, but I believe JB's time at Syracuse pre-dated the formation of the Big East by a few years.
