Westbrook shot attempts 32. Rest of team outside of Durant 31. I would much rather my point guard get others involved than shoot more than 6 players combined.

Westbrook was 20-32 for 43 points, 7 boards, and 5 dimes.

If he doesn't foul there, the best case scenario is OKC has 7 seconds to hit a 3. Odds of that going in are not good.

He didn't botch the game. This WAS a game because of him on a night when Durant was average and Ibaka, Harden, and Fisher were completely invisible. He hustled all night long - the rest of the guys looked like they weren't even into it.

Well, Fisher is basically any old jimbo from the stands. You can't expect much of anything from him. Ibaka can shoot if he's set up on pick and pops, but they haven't been running anything for him. These last 2 games, OKC's offensive sets have been terrible. Harden looks like a scared puppy though. I cringed at that play with about 3 mins left in the game. He gets the ball around the top of the circle. He's wide open...panics...takes a dribble forward...still wide open...looks to pass...still wide open...reluctantly shoots and clangs it. If he would have just shot in rhythm the first time he'd be fine but he's so rattled its almost sad to watch. Someone needs to sit him down for a talk fast.

Hopefully Skip Bayless is on the verge of swallowing a shotgun.

Maybe twice the defender and facilitator, but he's nowhere close to Westbrook as a scorer.

Scoring is overrated. There are hundreds probably even thousands of players that can be amazing scorers that can't even sniff the NBA. If I have my point guard bringing it up the floor every time I want him to facilitate first. This is why I am not a fan of D-Rose. Tries to carry too much of the scoring load. Same could be said for Westbrook although he is a bit better of a shooter than Rose. Rondo is a better rebounder as well fwiw and if he does ever develop a jump shot he will easily be the best point guard in the league.

He obviiously didn't need that jumper to put up 40 when he wanted to. However he still had double digit assists that game.

He did hit an unusual amount of jumpshots, he was out of his mind that game.

Rondo is a great player now. Westbrook is really good but he isn't an elite
PG like Rondo is. Not yet. He doesn't have the decision making ability.

Rondo intrigues me, I don't think he'd be a triple double machine on a team with a strong rebounder on it. He's playing fantastic, but the celtics are hilariously thin elsewhere. A lot of his stats come from picking up the slack for his teammates.

At the same time though, he puts up some 60s and 70s NBA statlines...

but isnt that what everyone cries about when saying someone is "clutch"?

The whole clutch thing is overblown as well. People try to call Kobe clutch, but if you watch a lot of those games in the three peat it is often Fisher and Horry bailing them out with the clutch moments. I feel like there are a lot of people that are no more than casual fans(playoffs only) that try to act like they have a distinct knowledge of the game. No player is going to have their shot on every night and when that is the case they need the help of their team to make up for it. That is almost impossible if they(the team) aren't given the opportunity because one or two players decide they need to carry 80% of the scoring load.
