I have been harping this tune for as long as I can remember.............and I'll say it again...........give me a defensive unit with 3 all-stars and few experienced players, and I'll give you no better than a 3-loss season. Give me a defensive unit full of experienced players and 0 all-stars, and I'll give you no worse than a 2-loss season.

Experience experience experience.................it 100% of the time = leadership, effort, and just an overall knowledge of the game..........which blows talent out of the water.

I'll just put it this way..............if our defense can just simply learn to get teams off the field a decent amount of times, we aren't going to lose many games next season........because our offense is going to put up some points.

You can take that thar and deposit it in the bank. We will be one of the most efficient teams on offense in the entire country next season.

Guise, Taylor Martinez only turned the ball over 2 times in the last 7 games. After that Wisconsin game, he honestly was one of the most important players we had on the field.

The offensive line performed horrendously though.

It was a combination of our defense sucking and our offensive line sucking that led to the losses we had. Taylor and Beck were a big part of the reason for losing the Wisconsin game though.

But to give Taylor credit he took that as a challenge to learn his position and stepped up. Not sure if we can say the same about Beck yet.

i disagree sir. yes he only turned it over 2 times in 7 games. but that is also because he was asked to do so little after that game....honestly by the end of the season it was almost as if we didn't have a QB, we had a "hand the ball to Rex" guy....

now obviously a lot of that was because of the lack of depth at QB, but i, in my obsessive "classic nebraska fan reading to much in to the situation", also think a lot of it was because it became clear to the coaching staff that Taylor is just....the Taylor martinez we saw in the Texas game, or...the wisconsin game.

now yes, he has had games like Washington pt1, or kstate, or oklahoma state, or tOSU.....but those games don't come consistently enough to trust him to do what he can do offensively every single game

I have an extremely hard time defending Taylor, however it was his first year under a first year OC. If he continues to not learn anything, or progress at all, I will use the 5 point exploding heart technique on myself.

Up through the Wisconsin game Taylor averaged 21 pass attempts per game, and 16 rushing attempts per game.

After the Wisconsin game, Taylor averaged 23 pass attempts per game, and 13 rushing attempts per game.

yeah statistically he was basically the same, even a little up in the passing attempts, but(!!!) maybe it was just me, but according to the eye test, it just looked to me like he was just not as involved as he was before the whiskey game

I honestly think that's just because he started taking care of the ball, so it didn't seem like he was doing as much.

Seriously, when the guy was fumbling 1 out of ever 3 plays, it sure seemed like he was carrying the ball a lot.....didn't it? That's because we were all pulling ourn hair out.
