Chuck,
I sure hope she would rather give, than receive. For your sake anyway. ;)

well guys i haven't been around in a while...moved in to a new place and don't have the internets set up yet. i should be back soon (if you guys even noticed i was gone ). anyways, i was up checking out some of my grandpa's new land and we came across this lovely print in the snow. being a dumbass i tried to take the picture with my hand there for comparison but my hand was not at ground level, so it's a little hard to tell how big it is.

a couple weeks ago they shot a mountain lion on this land, and we spotted some pretty fresh tracks today. the prints were huge, but what was even more impressive was the stride length...the damn thing's steps were almost a yard long. needless to say, when we saw those, my brother and i both chambered a round in our rifles.

A mountain lion wouldnt have that much of an indent where its heel/leg dragged.. it was probly justva running coyote, imo

its not a coyote, it was too big. my grandpa has been up in the area for 70 years and done plenty of coyote hunting and he said it wasn't that.

It's not round enough to be a mountain lion IMO

Also when the sun beats on snow it melts somewhat making a track a bit bigger than it was when initially made.

For the record I've never seen a mountain lion track in the snow, so I'm no expert. I've seen many a coyote tracks and a few bobcat tracks. Cat tracks tend to be rounder. Their feet are more like a pad.

Could also depend how hard the snow was..

Either way, there are mountain lions around, nothin new

Oh I know there are mountain lions about for probably 20 years now. They shot one in Omaha.

I'm of the belief they were seeded to keep the deer population in check. They won't admit it though.
