Yah but then they only win by 3 points or 1 point, refs needed the 4 for the spread hence the flags. And they had to stop Detroit for scoring anymore points which I thought they did with a couple non-calls.

What non-calls happen when Detroit had the ball after Dallas took the lead?

Some of you are really reaching right now.

man I hate that as a Dallas fan.

I also hate how I can't rub my eyes with my right hand because every finger has a damn superbowl ring on it. Glad you guys still have 4 free fingers :suds:

Oh wow, what player are you? Are you Jerry Jones? That's the only person I can think of that was with all those Dallas teams.

I'm not sure why you think there can't be both offensive and defensive PI on the same play between the same 2 guys. It's unusual, but I've seen it called and there's nothing in the rule book prohibiting it. A WR pushes off then the defender recovers and gets there too early and hits him before the ball gets there = offsetting PI.

I've never seen that called, and not sure you would ever see it actually called. Possible, probably. Ever happened, no way. If the offensive contact were taht early it would likely be illegal contact and not PI, wouldn't it?

that would be an illegal use of hands & a PI offsetting each other. A PI is only when the ball is in the air, where the defender wouldn't have time to recover. if the push off happens with the ball in the air only one guy is being called for PI.

The funny part is cowboy fans are all over these threads playing defense. They finally don't choke in a playoff game and it is tarnished by the officiating. It has been hard to be a cowboy fan and its must just suck to win in the midst of a controversy that will not go away.

Point to that call all you want ...but right after that Detroit punted for 10 yards. A 10 yard punt that was unblocked. That has to be a playoff record.

Yeah that sucked but it should have been 1st & 10 in FG range with no punt necessary.

Nobody will give a rats ass about this call by Wednesday and I'm being nice by saying Wednesday. I'll be shocked if anyone outside of these boards are talking about the call after tomorrow

Didn't take long for the "but how many SBs does your team have" argument to come out:lol: Usually that is a sign that you are losing an argument, sad that it was the first thing you turned too.:L

Cowboys have lost plenty because of bad calls in a game. I have no problem taking a win any way it comes. What comes around always goes around. If it happened in the early 3rd qtr does it change anything? No. Refs sucked all the around. Don't see all you hawk fans making a list of all those calls not in the boys favor today. We fans cant control the refs. Doesn't mean we cant be happy we won. Unless we really thought it was because it was fixed. Then we might feel dirty.
But I laugh at all those thinking the fix is in :heh:

I've seen it called. If the ball is in the air it's PI both ways. I remember it because the announcers mentioned how unusual it was... and don't ask me what game it was. It was within the last couple of years though. Point being they're not mutually exclusive under the rules which Smoooopy, or whatever his handle is, seemed to imply.

Your team played well. Road playoff games are never easy and your defense had a pretty good day overall, even if they didn't hold late.

Tate was a beast in that first half.

He sure was and for some screwed up reason the conservativeness came out, and Lombardi/Caldwell said no need to keep going there. At least it seemed that way. I can not fathom rewatching yet.

And Detroit probably makes the FG, Dallas probably comes down and scores a TD, it probably goes to OT and I think Dallas wins based on how the momentum was clearly in their favor at that point

if Dallas scores a Td the score is 24-23 wouldn't need overtime.

the TD gives us a 1 point win still, doesn't it?
