Please, show me in the rule book where there can't be offsetting pass interference on the same play. And yes, I have seen it called offsetting in college games and I'm pretty sure over the years that it has been called in NFL games as well. It's just not as common here. You're the one claiming that it's in the rule book that there can only be one PI call on the same play. Please cite this in the rule book or just move on.

It can be called. It normally is not, but it technically can

actually I claimed it never happened. (never mentioned the rule book)
so how can I prove it never happened, if it never happened. You claim it has happened. Burden is now on you to show it happened :)

But they wouldn't have been in that position had the correct call stood. They'd have had first and ten at about the 30. Totally different circumstances.

I agree. I would be pissed if I'm a Detroit fan. Honestly after a call like that goes against you, I would've went for it just as a fuck you to the refs.

My whole point is when the nonsense took place, 8 minutes was left on the clock. After the flag several things went wrong for Detroit. The punter shanked the kick, they allowed a 4th and 7, and they committed 2 boneheaded defensive penalties with one being on 3rd down after they had just forced a 4th down

It may have happened before, but I have never seen the defender and the offensive player both be called for offsetting PI penalties.

Do I think it can happen? Yes. You can call a penalty on damn near every play in a NFL game. So I could see it if the early TD's are called back. Detroit helped this conspiracy out by shooting themselves in the foot, shin and the fucking knee caps today.

Yep Detroit did basically nothing on offense after the Bush Td to put them up 14-0.

Like having a TD called for you when an INT should have been called?

But that was ok, at the time but THIS...man THIS is a fix!

Notice how all the Seahawk fans just glided past this? :noidea:

Your team played well. Road playoff games are never easy and your defense had a pretty good day overall, even if they didn't hold late.

Tate was a beast in that first half.

Any game that ends with fans bitching on both sides of a debate about officiating was a great game. This was no exception.

I just love the idea that Seahawks fans are up on arms because they are worried. If that's all Dallas has they stand no chance next week. Not worried AT ALL about anything past that. Seattle still has their hands full this week introducing Cam to the Clink. One thing at a time.

who says that? Our win gave you an easier path.

I have no idea why SEA fans are bitching, but they are out in record numbers.

Sure, it happened in NBA because of money bets and we witnessed it tonight.

Dallas was going to go down with 10 or 7 with at most a chance to tie it and eek out a field goal win in OT (face it TDs just don't happen that often in OT) and the spread was 4 points, which is exactly what the refs got for them.

It was 20-17.

If Dallas had forced a FG, A TD would have still won it for them.

With how close Prater was to missing his fg's tonight, I wouldn't even be set in stone that he was for sure making a 45 yard fg to be honest.

I'm sure when the refs picked up the flag they knew that Detroit would shanked the punt and Dallas would march down the field for a td :L

Right. As long as the Ref picks one or the other, & most times they pick the defender over the offensive guy, when there is contact between them both. Right call or not, it will never be an offsetting penalty.

If I am a WR & I throw my defender to the ground, & he grabs my shirt & drags me down with him. I committed Pass Interference (if the ball is in the air) it isn't offsetting PIs

I'm not sure why you think there can't be both offensive and defensive PI on the same play between the same 2 guys. It's unusual, but I've seen it called and there's nothing in the rule book prohibiting it. A WR pushes off then the defender recovers and gets there too early and hits him before the ball gets there = offsetting PI.

Yah but then they only win by 3 points or 1 point, refs needed the 4 for the spread hence the flags. And they had to stop Detroit for scoring anymore points which I thought they did with a couple non-calls.

Point to that call all you want ...but right after that Detroit punted for 10 yards. A 10 yard punt that was unblocked. That has to be a playoff record.

my understanding was the point spread was 6.5 so how did that 4 points help?
