The Indians have designated 1B/3B/DH Mark Reynolds for assignment. As such, they now have 10 days to trade, release or outright Reynolds.

This season, the 30-year-old Reynolds has hit .215/.307/.373 with 15 home runs in 99 games played. A right-handed batter, Reynolds in 2013 has an OPS of just .745 against left-handed pitching. His offensive struggles in tandem with his defensive limitations have rendered him expendable in Cleveland. Reynolds had been struggling since his hot April ended and had started just eight of the team's last 21 games.

Given his power track record, though, he seems likely to catch on elsewhere. Presently, Reynolds has 196 career home runs.

Francona has made 2 crucial mistakes in probably what is the biggest series the Tribe has played in since 2007....The Chris Perez fiasco Monday night and last night leaving Salazar, who has not thrown over 89 pitches this year, in for over 100 pitches to face the best hitter in baseball.

That being said....the lineup shit the bed again.....not being able to advance runners and just bad baseball all around.

Cabrera is just worthless now....inning killing grounding into double plays, failing to advance runners and just not any sort of clutch in his body. If they could get a competent reliever in a trade for him now it would be a steal

Santana crapped his pants too, I believe twice Brantley started the inning on 2nd and Santana failed to even move him to 3rd.

All in all bad baseball from the offense, if they would had done their job the game more then likely does not go extra innings....even with Miggys HR

Also....really? getting just shut down and baffled by FREAKING JEREMY BONDERMAN for 3 innings in extras? come on

This is the inconsistent hot streak/extreme cold streak offense from hell

Salazar pitched a fine game, you can't blame him, like I said the most pitches he has thrown in a game all year was 89 and he was on a pretty strict 75-85 pitch count in the minors....and Francona leaves him in for over 100 to face the best hitter in baseball, that is all bad.....

Looking at the remaining schedules, I don't see the Tigers losing 8 games to concede the Central lead to us.

Best remaining teams Detroit plays: Oakland, Boston
Best remaining teams Tribe plays: Oakland, Atlanta, Baltimore, Detroit

Apart from that, we have nearly the same difficulty of schedule left. So, it's going to take weak teams beating the Tigers for us to have a chance, as well as needing to sweep our last series with them in late August.

If we start winning again, then we know we just can't beat the Tigs.

Every year there is a team that will give you trouble. Tigs is that team. Should of split the series, but everything is goin right for Detroit right now. Can't make excuses, still in position to get a wildcard or catch up to Tigs if we beat everyone else
