Wow things just keep getting more and more hilarious in Blades town. Saskatoon just gave up a third round pick in 2013 and a first round pick in 2014 and a 4th liner for Nathan Burns, a 19 year old who has all of 34 goals in his career. Vancouver wins this trade hands down. At 6-9, there's already whispers of the Blades getting replaced in the Memorial Cup, but now they're trading away what few assets they have left for third liners. Not only is Saskatoon still not going to have any chance at winning the Memorial Cup, they are going to be a doormat for years after giving up so many picks going back to the Brayden Schenn trade. Winning the bid to host the Memorial Cup was the worst thing that could have happened to the Blades. This year was a down year and they should have used it to try and recover some of the assets they've traded away. Instead they're trading away first round picks just to try and get to .500.

Ryan Strome with 1G 4A in a 9-4 Niagara win over Guelph. Strome is now tied with Boone Jenner with 28 points, leading the OHL.

Brett Ritchie with 5 goals today to get into the mix.

Tri-City puts 9 up against the Giants.
can't lay this one ALL on the goalies though, they were outshot 38-15. just a plain old ass-kicking.
but the kid (Lee Payton) got shelled for 4 on 18 shots, and his replacement (Tyler Fuhr, no relation) let in 5 on 20

Olli Maatta with a goal last night takes him to 16 points on the season, 2G-14A. He leads all defensemen for London, and ranks third on the team in scoring.

Loving that draft pick more everyday

What are your thoughts on his teamate Scott Harrington?

London has a lot of talent. Tie Domi's son could go in the top 10 of the 2013 draft.

I have managed to watch only one game of London's this season, a game on NHL network. In that game, and most everything I've read about the knights this season says that Harrington is doing a stand-out job of being that calming influence on the back end for London.

Harrington has been paired with Maatta often, and from judging the stats, it looks as if Scott is doing yeoman's work in allowing Maatta to get involved offensively.

London shut out a pretty solid Guelph team Sunday night. That reflects pretty well on the captain and their defense, I'd say.

Guelph will be better when they get Andrey Pedan back from suspension.

London always seems to have a good team. Maata & Harrington are getting excellent coaching & this is coming from an Islanders fan who can't stand Dale Hunter.

I know the Pens have some roster D who are getting a bit older. It's going to be interesting to see what they do with all their young D. They have a lot of depth.

I went to 1 of the games 2 years ago as well as 4 years ago. Russia won both games. I think those might have been the only 2 games they won in the past several years. :L They are looking pretty good early tonight though.

I think we (Canadians) were spoiled for a while there with all the great goaltenders that were developed in the 80's, 90's and early 00's. We seem to have hit a dry spell in that department. I for one blame the province of Quebec :D

4-1 Russia after two periods...The Russians have had pretty good success against the Q in this Subway Series over the past few years.

Shots on goal after 40 minutes: QMJHL 23, Russia 15

Out of the 3rd period gate, I am like the Q's Culkin and Fournier. The Vasilevskis continue to impess me.
