Considering how pissed MSU fans were when y'all beat them the first time I'd start to believe in Iowa too if they win tonight.

And I've never believed in Iowa, it's worked out pretty well...

any objective reportage and/or previous postings here covering this alleged Spartan fan 'pissitude' would be appreciated. There were simply too many easily used (but not) excuses for the loss. I think Izzo covered Spartan disappointment pretty well by saying "we got punked." I'll go further: "we got punked by punks and will remedy the situation tonight."

It is a down year in the B1G.

Right now the B1G has 4 LOCKS for the tournament:

Michigan State(#1 seed)
Maryland(#2/#3 seed)
Iowa(#3/#4 seed)
Purdue(#4/#5 seed)

Two other teams that would be IN if the tournament started today:

Michigan(#8/#9 seed)
Indiana(#8/#9 seed)

Everybody else has glaring resume issues. Ohio State has too many losses, Northwestern has an awful SOS, Wisconsin and Illinois just aren't any good this year, along with PSU.

Rutgers, Nebraska and Minnesota are complete dumpster fires. I think this is a 6 bid league. Outside shot at 7.

But I'd rather put in the 9th place Pac 12 team or 8th place Big 12 team before I put in the 7th place B1G team.

I was there. I neither chanted nor stormed. Without Valentine that was a game iowa was supposed to win. Now tonight is a different story. On a side note both Valentine and Uthoff made ESPN mid season 1st team all American

As much as Vitale likes UNC and Duke, is I think the exact same amount Jim Calhoun seems to like whoever MSU is playing, from what I've seen this season.

National title contenders don't typically get blown out on their own floor.

But this year might be the exception to all rules.

MSU is not a title contender. They rely to much on an average to just above average player. Izzo will do his March Magic and get this team further than expected but they just don't have enough horses this year. Regardless its still terrific coaching job by Izzo.

Iowa looks awesome. I said the other day I could see them finishing B1G play 15-3. They might finish undefeated or 17-1. They play like they did in the first half they are a legit FF contender.

Iowa has played some great halves of basketball this year, first halves vs ISU/MARQUETTE/MSU and 2nd half vs PURDUE. If they can figure out a way to play a whole game like that they're going to beat someone by 50 and,the team they beat may even be pretty good

This is still pretty early in the season. As for locks, I'm not sure I'm sold on Purdue. For that matter, Indiana is undefeated in conf play and OSU has losses, which look pretty bad, but they were early season losses. I don't know that you can count them out just yet.
