I honestly think Iowa is better than NW and Indiana. If th we y can figure out how to close a game out they may be dangerous01. MSU 11-0 (#1 in country is nice, but won't last if team has many more games like yesterday)
02. PUR 11-0 (hey world, these guys are fer realz)
03. UMD 9-1 (best team in the B1G, hands down)
04. NW 7-1
05. IU 8-3
06. UI 7-3
07. UM 7-3
08. PSU 7-3
09. NEB 6-4
10. ILL 6-5
11. WIS 6-5
12. MN 5-5
13. OSU 4-5
14. RUT 4-6

Yep. Iowa is a weird team. I'd venture that if every D1 team played their best game Iowa is a top 10-15 type team but this year's ream is so inexperienced on the bench it'll be tough to win all the games they shouldI haven't seen NW yet, but may, unless Beth Mowin is p-b-png.
Indiana does not impress, but might.
Iowa can beat any major team in the country -but usually hasn't and likely won't (enough to drive their fans nuts.)
We won the B1G-ACC challenge, definitely a down year for the conference though.
If Iowa can get through the first half of conference play at 4-5 or 5-4 they should win 11 or 12 conference games.I still can't believe that actually happened. Minnesota can't beat any team from the state of South Dakota, yet they beat Clemson. Wisconsin can't beat any team from the state of Wisconsin and Western Illinois, but they beat Syracuse. Although I think the ACC is probably the 4th best conference this year.
I think the B1G will be lucky to get 6 teams in the dance, especially if the gap between the top 3(Purdue, MSU, and Maryland) plays out like I think and they don't lose many games outside of playing each other. Iowa has a chance to rack up wins after their first 8 conference games. Brutal schedule to open up B1G play with a home and home with MSU and a road game at Purdue.
Looking at Iowa's schedule they really get screwed big time. Have MSU, Purdue, Indiana and Michigan twice. Get Minnesota, Rutgers, Nebraska, Ohio State, Illinois and Wisconsin only once. Only get Maryland once, but it's at Maryland. The only team projected to be in the bottom 7 of the league they play twice is Penn State. The one good thing is they should close out the last 10 games like 9-1 or 8-2.

Yep that is kind of how I see it I don't think Purdue is as good as Maryland or MSU but Iowa matches up way better with those teams than they do Purdue especially Maryland. I'll say Iowa goes 2-3 in those 5 and 12-6 overall. Should be a 5 or 6 seed.Agreed. Really depends how those first 8 games play out with 5 against MSU/PU/MD. Even if Iowa only gets one of those 5 that still sets you up at 4-4 heading into the final 10 where 8-2 or 9-1 is very realistic. 12-6 in the B1G will get Iowa the 4th seed most likely. Iowa would have 10 losses going into the tourney, probably setting up a 5-7 type of seed in March. Iowa's SoS will be very very good this season.

If I were gonna guess B1G seeds in the tourney right now:
Purdue (1)
Michigan State (2)
Maryland (4)
Iowa (7)
Indiana (7)
Wisconsin (First Four)
I think the first five will be relatively safe. I think Wisconsin, Michigan, and Northwestern will all be fighting for 1 or 2 spots.
I think the top three are quite good, and if Iowa was mentally tougher, they'd be there as will. The (non-Rutgers) bottom isn't a trainwreck, but the middle of the B1G is as bad as I can remember.
