I'm trying to sympathize with you, but right now I have these band-aids that we slowly ripped off of the Ohio State Buckeyes, and I'm trying to figure out where to throw them.

Hitting runners in the lane, creative passing, confident shooting, attacking the boards with authority. I haven't seen the Badgers do that consistently in a long time. Watch out NCAA.

Yea what happened to the Gophers?

If you don't beat Nebraska, I'm going to kick the first Iowa fan I see in the nuts.

They were up 21-5 almost half way through the 1st half. The shot clock was winding down and McCabe hit a miracle 3 going into a tv timeout. From there, Iowa went on a 50-17 run and shot 48% from the floor while pressing the shit out of them and then sagging off into a 2-3 zone. They didn't know what to do. Tubby said it could be the most disappointing loss of his career. I'll take it.

Yeah, it was at Carver. The box score is pretty nuts. Their biggest lead was 16 and ours was 23 and ended up winning by 21. It was sold out and the crowd was into it. We have 3 more home games (Purdue/Illinois/Nebby). 2 road games are at Nebby and at Indiana. We could/should finish up 4-1 going into the B1G tourney. Marble has the swagger back and has averaged almost 18ppg over the last 3. The defense looks good and everyone knows their role. We're scary right now.

It would be sweet indeed, considering the teams that would be eliminated. This could go into a whole different discussion, but I kind of hate the conference tournaments. I also kind of love them.

I'm with you there. They are nice because it's more basketball and it gives one last shot at the dance for those teams that need a little bit extra. But then there the cases where some shit team wins a shit conference and they end up stealing a bid from a team that deserves it. The argument can be made that if you win, it all ends up fine, but it does piss me off.
Now this effects the NIT also because regular season conference champs that don't make the Dance are automatically in the NIT. The first year this happened, Iowa was 17-14 overall, but had a 9-9 conference record. They were the first B1G team to have a .500 or better conference record and not make the NCAA tourney. And, because of bid stealers, they didn't make the NIT either. The next year was when the CBI started. That year sucked triple because Alfraud left the cupboard bare when he tucked tail and ran to New Mexico and we hired Lickliter.

Wisconsin and Michigan State had some good battles during the Devin Harris era, but I could live without all of it. I don't see another solution to the weeks the teams would spend sitting around not playing, though. Unless they do like a end season B1G/ACC challenge but with all of the major conferences involved.

On the Iowa board, we have thread going about what it'll take to get in the tourney. I found a bracketology page that shows all teams in and their seed. He has Iowa in as an 11 seed and New Mexico as a 6. That would be a dream come true. Fucking Alfraud.

No sicker feeling than when one person comes along and trashes a good thing. Barry's biggest contribution to Wisconsin has been helping build a tradition big enough that if he has to, he can survive an exodus and bring in competent people to take control of the program. We've been lucky. Iowa was a big obstacle on the football field for years. Luckily the Badgers still pulled off some major victories. Just imagine if you guys had been in our way on the court more often. I wonder how different the recruiting wars would be.

^ Theoretically. I guess we'll have to see how Andersen does. But I think Barry can line someone up for the hoops job, too, whenever Bo has had enough. It's a good feeling.

Just a hunch which has grown stronger recently....I think Gard is the guy. It wouldn't surprise me if it was already agreed to under the table.

With our win and Minnesota's loss, we took 6th in the B1G this year. Now we have to wait to see how tomorrow plays out to see who we'll have in the 2nd round.
