The Deep South's Oldest Rivalry: 2011
Auburn leads the series at 54-52-8, while Georgia leads in totals points at 1809-1771.
Georgia averages 15.86 points per game while Auburn averages 15.53 ppg.
The first meeting for the two was in Piedmont Park in Atlanta. AU & UGA have played in Atlanta, Macon, Montgomery, Savannah and was played for many years in Columbus.
The two teams didn't play in Auburn until 1960. At first because of Auburn's facilties, or lack there of, and later because of the tradition that had been created with the game in Columbus, Ga.
It's a unique thing. It's like playing against your brother. I don't think anybody who plays in that game can ever forget it. It just doesn't matter much where it's played or what somebody's record is. It's so intense and tough, but at the same time, it's family.
